What we're doing
We're hosting a traditional bonfire event out at the same location where we do Band Camp every year: the beautiful, secluded and always welcoming Wellsummer Campsite. There'll be fireworks, warm food, seasonal cocktails, craft activities and gorgeous music.
Why are we doing it?
This is a tribute to Bonfire Nights as remembered back in the 1990's. Expect fireworks, pie and peas, sparklers, a northern dessert called Parkin and open fires amongst a moderate sized group in a stunning winter setting. It's The Guitar Social antidote to some of the oversized, cramped and stressful fireworks events that have engulfed this event that many people used to do in their back garden or down the local pub.
How will the day run?
Some drinks at The Princess of Wales Pub in Blackheath from 1pm. We get picked up at 2pm with a view to arriving on site at 3pm. You'll be welcomed with a free mulled wine. From there you can explore the site, take part in a wreath making workshop, or a make your enemy effigy workshop, or hang out in the wooden, handcrafted bar.
There will be guitars on site with an open mic around a small fire running from 4.30pm.
The big fire starts at 6pm. Fireworks at 7pm. Bus home at 9.30pm, unless you're staying.
What will we eat
The menu is developing, but we are going old old school seasonal options cooked for us on open fires.
How we're getting there
A coach will pick you up at The Princess of Wales pub in Blackheath, SE3. This is close to the train station, which runs to London Bridge, Cannon Street and Charing Cross, all in under 20 minutes. From there, it's a short journey of one hour to Kent.
About the location
The location is stunning. We have a woodland to explore, open glades, a beautiful bar to hang out in, and fires to keep us warm in the run-up to the big fire.
How are we getting back?
We will have you back in London for 10.45pm.
Can you stay the night?
Yes, you can. There are several options in the hand crafted huts, cabins and cottages on site,
How does the pricing work?
All that travel on the bus have a one ticket price option to pay.
If you are travelling in yourself, a contribution of ten pounds is asked to cover the costs of wood and the fireworks
If you are booking a cabin, and traveling in on the bus, you still have to pay the bus ticket.

1. The ticket holder voluntarily assumes all risks and danger incidental to the event for which the ticket is issued, whether occurring prior, during or after the event. The ticket holder voluntarily agrees that the management, venue, event participants, DesignMyNight (WFL Media Ltd) and all of their respective agents, officers, directors, owners and employers are expressly released by the ticket holder from any claims arising from such causes.
2. Tickets are issued subject to the rules and regulations of the venue.
3. Please check your tickets, as mistakes cannot always be rectified.
4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
7. We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
8. Tickets are sold subject to the venue or promoter's right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
9. If this ticket is re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the promoter, venue management, DesignMyNight or one of their authorised sub-agents, it will become voidable and the holder may be
refused entry to or ejected from the venue.
10. The venue may operate a No Smoking Policy.
11. The promoter, venue management and DesignMyNight accept no responsibility for any personal property.
12. The event listed on the purchased ticket is strictly for ticket holders who are over 18 years of age. Identification may be required.
