London's best open mic returns for our first winter outing at our home in the heart of Shoreditch.

You're welcome to come as a spectator or a performer. If you're the latter, you have two songs so prepare us about 9 minutes of your best material. To book your slot, email thomas@theguitarsocial.com

We ask that all performers stay with us until the end of the evening, music finishes at 10pm. If you do intend on leaving after you have played then please join us on a different night when you can stay the duration.

This event is open to everyone. It is not just for people on courses with The Guitar Social.

This is ticketed-but you can by pass that by supporting us on patreon where the 'Support Act' tier will get you free entry to all of our events. At £9 a month this is great way to support the Guitar Social and save yourself some money to spend on guitar strings, picks and pedals that you'll never use.

Cheers all

Thomas

Really good fun! Lots of people met up, chatted, ate delicious pizza and had a great jam with Thomas. Such a friendly crowd.

Absolutely thrilled that I *finally * made it along to an event with The Guitar Social - I only wish I’d done it years ago. I booked myself first very course: the Impro Slam Jam and it won't be the last. Turning up on the first day was nerve-racking. I had never taken my guitar onto a train before let alone int a space like the Drum Lab - and I was also mindful I was the least experienced player in the room. Any nerves quickly disappeared, though. I was welcomed and supported from the start (even to find a chair, a lead, an amp and plug in!). Thomas leads the sessions with great insight and talent, guiding us through new scales, songs, and techniques that focus on steady progression. I've found that playing alongside others brings an energy and motivation you just don’t get solely practising at home. If you’re just playing at home or have a guitar quietly gathering dust, I’d highly recommend checking out The Guitar Social, booking a class, a course or event and turning up at the Drum Lab. You’ll absolutely enjoy the thrill of playing with others, and like me, want to come back for more.
