What they say:

With its distinctive architecture, M by Montcalm is a Shoreditch landmark. The arrow head shaped skyscraper isn't just impressive on the outside though, the spot is also known for its good quality restaurants and bars. Plate Restaurant is a welcome addition to the groundfloor and mezzanine part of the hotel. Downstairs, a bistro and all-day eatery will be serving British food with a French flair, while the cocktail bar is situated on the mezzanine, giving views of the hubbub below.

What we say:

Billed as British comfort food with a French twist, Plate is taking seasonal British dishes and giving them a continental twist. Patron chef Arnaud Stevens is inspired by his upbringing in southern France to give classic dishes a je ne sais quoi, as well as his experience working with the likes of Gordon Ramsey and Gary Rhodes. Along with steamed St Mawes sea bream and Barnsley Chop, there is an all-day patisserie that serves afternoon teas with a European twist.
