What they say:

From Bethnal Green's Viajante to Taberna Do Mercado in Spitalfields Market, Nuno Mendes has had his fingers in many London Restaurant-shaped pies. Now, the superstar chef is realising his dream of two years with the opening of Mãos, an experiential and very fancy restaurant in Shoreditch. Opened with long-term friend James Brown, the new restaurant will only have space for 14 diners, all of whom will sit around the same table for the entire night.

What we say:

Start saving your pennies now, tip top chef Nuno Mendes is opening what looks set to be London foodies' hottest new ticket. Restaurant, wine bar and experience Mãos (meaning 'hands' in Portuguese) has opened in a tiny room above a former shop in Shoreditch, with a place costing £150 per person, without wine and service included. Spread across the course of three hours, the evening will be experimental and delicious, with food most likely inspired by Mendes' Portuguese heritage; think lots of cured meats and fish.
