This place is in a great location on the basin at Paddington but location doesn't a restaurant make if the food doesn't live up to it. This is my first time at Lockhouse so can't attest to anything other than what I had on the day. I ordered the Lockhouse burger which is very small and pricey but adequate. Not the best burger I have ever had but OK. The fries were very good but a side to the burger. That should never be the case. Fries should always be served along side a burger. Charge accordingly but they belong on the same plate. The service was sketchy despite the place being only half full and took quite a long time to get the bill when requested. And the thing which left a particularly bad taste in the mouth was a line on the bill that said simply "service charge". No "optional" added to that little statement. London establishments simply do not understand the concept of the tip with this this pervasive practice of adding 12.5% to the bill in the guise of a service charge. A tip is always optional and offered only when the service warrants it. It is bad enough that restaurants think it fine to assume you to want to tip and determine the amount in the first place but, at least there is some acknowledgement that it is indeed, optional. Not at Lockhouse. They are very much up-front with their demand for a tip. That, along with the food and service, doesn't inspire me to return and try more of their menu. Food was good, unfortunately we were a couple of big groups around the same time, which made it a bit more stressful for staff, but so far it went well. Visited Lockhouse on 2018-04-25

Had to keep getting up and walking round to find staff to order/get bill. The guy that gave us our food said he would bring sauces but never did, pretty sure he was the manager, I asked for blackcurrent in my cider the same as my first pint but there wasn’t any. Food was ok but the sweet potato chips weren’t very nice, too soft and soggy. Visited Lockhouse on 2018-03-26

Food is not bad but nothing fabulous. Our service was terrible, 2 dishes never showed up and we were served one we didn't order. Margaritas were way too sweet. Place is a bit dark. The LOCKHOUSE dressing for your salads was just balsamic vinegar and olive oil 😂 won't return or recommend unfortunately for dinner. Seems more of a place to drink. Visited Lockhouse on 2018-03-09

The staff were fantastic however I feel the food let them down . The burger was arvetage and my salad was expensive for what I received . It was supposed to be fog and blue cheese. There must have been a quarter of one fig which was sliced thinly into 3 and a few crumbs of blue cheese with a variety of salad leaves for £11 . £6 would have been an overpayment Visited Lockhouse on 2018-02-08
