What they say:

Featuring a massive 3m BBQ, Hammer & Tongs is a South African restaurant in Farringdon serving a meat-heavy menu and many traditional dishes. Plates include Potjie, a small pot cooked on an open fire which originates from the Dutch settlers in the 17th Century, as well as steaks and sausages. On top of all the delicious food, the cocktail menu looks pretty dreamy having been designed by the man behind Milk and Honey and Trailer Happiness.

What we say:

South Africans take their braai-ing seriously, so seriously that Hammer & Tongs are importing Sickle Bush from South African and Namibia to give their dishes the desired flavours. The menu is split into two - one half dedicated to steaks and various cuts of meat, and the second to their skewer section, all of which are flavoured with herbs such as confetti bush and West Cape aromats. Another thing that part of the world takes seriously is their wines, so on top of a cracking cocktail list, expect some excellent bottles to accompany your meal.
