KOKUM is a modern Indian restaurant in East Dulwich,
founded by Sanjay Gour and Simeron Lily Patel both of who bring
serious culinary pedigree from acclaimed restaurants like Gymkhana,
Dastaan, and Black Salt Sheen. Executive Chef Manmeet Singh Bali
leads the kitchen, drawing on experience from luxury establishments
such as the Ritz Carlton Dubai and Turnberry in Scotland. The
restaurant opened in 2023 and quickly established itself as a
destination for inventive Indian cooking that blends regional
traditions with contemporary flair.
The interiors at KOKUM are sleek and welcoming, with a
spacious dining room that seats up to 85 guests and a large outdoor
terrace used for BBQs on weekends. The design combines modern
minimalism with subtle Indian touches, creating a relaxed yet
refined atmosphere. The menu features both creative dishes and
elevated classics, like crispy amritsari fish, tandoori roast
cauliflower and lamb rogan josh. Signature cocktails like the
Chocolate Orange Negroni and Pink Peppercorn Old Fashioned add a
playful edge to the drinks list, rounding out an experience that’s
both polished and approachable.
