What they say:

With nearly 30 years of history behind them, Mildreds is a London stalwart. Having started life in a former sex shop in Soho, to being a forerunner in meat-free dining, the vegetarian restaurant has added another chapter to its story. The popular group have opened their fourth restaurant, this time in Dalston. Their latest outpost takes over the former spot of Japanese Canteen, a 3,400sq ft restaurant located on Kingsland Road and transforms it into a classic light and airy casual dining space.

What we say:

With a cook book and three hugely successful restaurants in London, Mildreds shows no sign of slowing down with their first opening in East London. Mildreds Dalston brings all the deliciousness to Kingsland road with meat-free dishes that have been inspired by world cuisine. Expect plates such as a halloumi burger, topped with chargrilled aubergine, harissa, rocket and red onion, along with Sri Lankan sweet potato curry which comes with roasted lime cashews, pea basmati rice and coconut tomato sambal. The drinks list is just as environmentally conscious with organic wine options and classic cocktails.
