After the success of Martello Hall in Hackney, Albion and East Group have launched a second site, this time in South London. Canova Hall is a two-storey venue that takes influences from its past - a dining hall and digs for the UK's first department store - with exposed brick, Edison light bulbs and quirky vintage furniture. The venue once again focused on Italian food, importing an authentic wood-fired oven from Italy for pizzas, and there is also a gin distillery on site.

With a cool, hot-desking, cafe vibe during the day and transforming into a cocktail bar and restaurant come the evening, Canova Hall looks set to emulate the success of its sister venue, Martello Hall. Drinks are served from a cocktail trolley, tables can book their own bartender to mix up tipples, and food is deliciously authentic Italian. As well as pizzas that use 48-hour fermented dough, there is homemade pasta and nibbles inspired by Italian street food.
