The Candlemaker is a vibrant, characterful pub whose pop art and psychedelic décor takes its inspiration from a nearby candle factory. This quaint pub is independently owned and aims to create a sense of community in the beautiful cobbled part of Battersea High Street. With an multitude of comfy places to relax and cool artwork lining the walls, this is a quirky pub made for relaxing with friends and enjoying good food and good drinks.

Candlemaker boss Michele has brought Soho’s favourite pop up café has moved to with her to Battersea. The Full English Kitchen features Michele's entirely appropriate retro food menu of great quality comfort food. Using the best ingredients from her favourite farmers, dishes range from old-favourites-with a twist like shredded lamb shepherds pie and beef brisket hash with black pudding, through new creations like her meatloaf burger.

There's also an East End fish stand, serving oysters on a Friday night, weekly market stalls and BBQ chefs overseeing cook outs.

The Candlemaker Battersea - London Pub Review

Awesome little boozer neatly tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Some great beers on offer including some made just down the road which gave off a nice local vibe. We did the quiz & 2-4-1 Burgers, Quiz master Danny was a hoot and the burgers we're bloody delicious. Look forward to checking out their bingo bottomless brunch, if it's half as good as what I've seen so far then they're on to a winner!

Cute little pub nestled away off the busy main road. I came in for a catch up with a friend last Wednesday and boy the food offering has changed. It was divine! We shared the platter and we couldn't get enough of the Vietnamese Chicken wings we ordered an extra portion. There was a Craft Club going on in the back too although we thought better to mix sticky fingers and origami. Definitely worth giving the Candlemaker another try, I can imagine the beer gardens must get busy in the summer.

Cosy pub with loads of character. It serves British food and has a small beer garden if you fancy sitting outdoors. They have a pub quiz on Monday nights if you fancy getting on your general knowledge!

I happily booked a table for my birthday on Sunday. The deco is really nice indeed and even though at 3,30 the pub was nearly empty (quite alarming)we ordered a Sunday roast as there was nothing else on the menu. When the food arrived it was a huge shock! It looked so miserable as if it had been cooked two days ago, everything was cold, the potatoes hard as stone, absolutely hideous! they tried to convince us it was freshly cooked, but there was no way they were telling the truth. After a poor attempt to heat the already suffered veggies and meat we asked for a refund which they gave us as the food was speaking for itself. Drinks? yes! Food? STAY AWAY!

An initial good impression of the pub - cool interior and a friendly barman. A group of 8 of us all ordered roasts - which came out at 3 different stages, regardless of what was ordered (plus a return for the wrong order). No apologies for the delay and no good-will gesture offered. The roasts were OK - some better than others, but quite small compared to normal pub roasts. Other staff were quite rude as well. Toilets were despicable and flooded, quite gross. A lot better pubs in SW London.
