Otto was born on 3rd September 2022. Two weeks later he was rushed into hospital after multiple seizures and induced into a coma. Following many tests, Otto was diagnosed with a rare genetic metabolic mitochondrial condition, affecting just a handful of children worldwide.
Otto lived a happy life full of love. At just over four months old, Otto made his way to heaven. He passed away peacefully on 24th January 2023, being doted on with love and kisses.
In honour of this beautiful, brave baby boy, Otto's loving parents along with their friends and family have been raising money for The Lily Foundation, the UK's leading mitochondrial disease charity and the largest charitable funder of mitochondrial research in Europe. The charity's mission is to improve the lives of people affected by mitochondrial diseases, while working towards a future where mitochondrial diseases can be effectively treated or cured.
Since his passing, Team Otto has collectively raised over £120,000 for The Lily Foundation.
We are delighted to announce Lullabies for Otto, an evening of music in memory of Otto, raising money and awareness for The Lily Foundation and the amazing work they do to support those affected by mitochondrial disease.
