Radio Forth Fringe Award Winner 2014

‘One of the most significant comedians working in the country today’

***** The Independent

At last year’s Fringe, where Maxwell was the only comedian tackling the Referendum, he won two awards, the highly coveted Herald Angel – Little Devil Award and the Radio Forth Fringe Award and he has twice been nominated for a Fosters Comedy Award (2011 and 2013).

In Edinburgh Maxwell is well known for his late night shows Maxwell’s Fullmooners.

**** “The spiky Irish comic adds much-needed political bite to this year’s fringe with a tenacious show that pulls apart the arguments over Scotland’s imminent referendum” – The Guardian (2014)

Maxwell recently presented his own BBC Radio 4 show Public Enemies, which concerned itself with the lazy assumptions about four possible threats to British society: nationalism, the internet, drugs and the food industry.

On television, he recently presented BBC3’s Conspiracy Coach Trip, which discussed world issues such as the 7/7 bombings and UFOs. He also recently appeared on Comedy Central’s Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central show and numerous BBC shows including: Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week, Have I Got News For You and Have I Got News For You, as well as C4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats. He was also a regular guest on Irish TV’s The Panel.

Andrew is a co-founder of the Alps-based festival Altitude with Marcus Brigstocke, which, over the years, has featured some of comedy’s biggest names including: John Bishop, Sean Lock, Tim Minchin, Bill Bailey, Micky Flanagan, Lee Mack, Al Murray, Eddie Izzard, and Jimmy Carr.

‘Hilarious, long live MacMaxwell’ **** Metro

‘Utter magic’ ***** The List

‘The cheeky Irish comic has gone from strength to strength, building confidence with each year’ Chortle
