My Fave ‘OUT’door Clubbing Experience in London The parties organised by Rob & Matt ( Up On The Roof & Slide On The Terrace ) that I have attended these past eight years ( the first time 2nd Aug 2009 ) have ALWAYS been the highlight of my clubbing experience in London - it was the first time in five years that I dared to to get 'OUT' of my comfort zone - until then I was obsessed with only going to 'gay' clubs and was quite fearful about how a 'mixed crowd' would react to my obvious sexuality - my fears were completely un-founded. Apart from one tiny insignificant incident ( which had a happy ending ) I have always been so happy here. This is my comfort zone. Over the years there have been changes to the name and layout ( I do miss the hot tub! ) - but not to the formula - that old adage 'if it works don't change it' is so true. This was a review of my first experience in 2009 and still resonates with me in 2017: The event was the first open air at Dex for this year: DEX-CLUB Get-Diverted Terrace Launch Party with Radio Slave This was a review I posted 7 Aug 2009 - & I still love the club! EXTRAORDINARY! - this was recommended by a friend Colin - this lovely guy is one of the few straight m8's I have -but I enjoy getting out of my comfort zone of the gay scene clubs - and Colin knows some amazing 'str8' venues. Living in Brixton for four years Dex was ideal - just 5 min walk away. Well I was not disappointed! - met Colin on Sunday 2nd Aug for the 1pm > 1am slot - the venue is perfect - rooftop - how many clubs offer this! – out-door BBQ - bar - gr8 crowd - and a new DJ every 2 hours! - starting with 'minimal' house getting harder later - the crowd was so friendly and lol loads of the girls danced with me - had my arse smacked so many times - usually its guys! - and absolutely no attitude about my sexuality - very friendly staff - OMG one of the bar boys I could not stop drooling over! - OK if the weather is dodgy you can always try the weekend nights - the club also has an indoor room. The music is brill - sorry guys but so many gay scene clubs are all playing same same hard house - well done DEX you got it! Well if you want to try something new - just do it!

This venue is beautiful, however it was hugely let down by the following. On a night out that I paid £20 for entry for, being told that 'you're in my world now' by a so called 'manager' was incredibly unprofessional, as they were threatening to chuck me out because I did not look at the camera correctly when scanning my ID. When I indicated that it was rude to tut at somebody so aggressively for this simple mistake, they lost their composure completely. Unfortunately I am left in the position of 'your word against mine'. I'm sure it's not all staff at all but the ones I encountered were the worst I have ever come across and being personally insulted was childish for a professional establishment! I was also told I was a 12 year old multiple times for being upset! As halerious as that is to me now, being personally abused by an employee of prince of wales whilst I offer no insults back is actually shocking. I am someone who doesn't really drink or ever get into altercations. I have also never ever left a review for anything before! I will not be going back ever!

The venue holds a great variety of events and has a spacious roof terrace, which is great for socialising if you go out with a large group. The dance floors are pretty spacious, with a couple of rooms. Drinks prices are resonable.

I have been here before and it was a brilliant night, I loved the spacious dance floors. I would absolutely recommend The Prince Of Wales...Djs are usually very good, music is very varied and caters for most, drinks reasonably priced, foods lovely, hours are brilliant as you'll have a nice place to go after your night out.

I wouldn't normally write a review, but I had such an awful experience at POW, I thought it was worth sharing. RUDE STAFF. One particularly aggressive door man clearly had issues and ruined the night for me and my friends. His manager was also a menace. Relatively reasonably priced drinks Good location

Came down for their Easter Sunday special where Greg Wilson was DJing up on the Terrace and it was amazing. Really great space and top night, will definitely be coming back to soak up more sun at this place.
