Though the show includes lots of shiny shots of Central London, the real filming locations are all over.
Now on its 19th series, The Apprentice is a BBC institution that has brought some hilarious scenes to our screens over the years. From over-confident candidates declaring they're going to be the next Prime Minister to cringe-worthy presentations and savage boardroom remarks, they manage to produce solid gold TV year after year.
But have you ever wondered where The Apprentice UK is filmed? Though they're shipped off all over the country (and sometimes even abroad) for tasks, the vast majority of the show takes place right here in the capital. Whether you're curious about the shots of The City in the introduction, hunting down the iconic Bridge Cafe or trying to avoid being talked into buying a dodgy-looking £10 cake from the contestants at one of London's markets, we've got the low-down on where these scenes are shot.
Where Is The Apprentice Boardroom Filmed?
We all know that the most important part of the show is the dreaded 'you're fired' at the end, so it's natural that a lot of The Apprentice is shot in the boardroom. And though the exterior shots may lead you to believe that this is an office in the heart of the city, with many believing it's filmed in Canary Wharf, it's actually a custom-built room at Black Island Studios in North Acton - sorry to burst your bubble.
Where Is The Bridge Cafe In The Apprentice?
While the winning team are whisked off to enjoy some kind of weird and wonderful activity each week, the losers are sent to the one place you never want to end up - The Bridge Cafe. This is a drab-looking cafe where the downhearted candidates argue about who lost them the challenge over a cup of tea. It can be found close to the boardroom in West Acton, and despite its appearance on the show, it has great reviews and a loyal customer base that appreciates its affordable food. They even sell 'You have been fired' mugs.
However, only the exterior shots are filmed here - the interiors shown in recent series are actually from a brighter-looking venue La Cabana Cafe, which is located in the Cumberland Business Park in Willesden.
Where Is The House In The Apprentice?
Throughout the series, all the contestants share a large house, where they're seen being woken up at 4am and given 20 minutes to get ready (though they somehow have time to iron, curl their hair and do a full face of makeup). These scenes have been shot at multiple locations over the years, though the most recent was Huxley House - situated on Bishop’s Avenue in North London.
This is perhaps the most glamourous of the houses that have been used - as the road its on is known as Billionaire's Row. It features eight bedrooms, a pool, a sauna and a gym, as well as a huge cinema screen and bar - worth around £17.5 million overall.
Where Is The Apprentice Final Filmed?
Perhaps the most daunting task of all comes in the final, when the last two contestants have to pitch their business plan to a room full of experts. This part of the episode is filmed in City Hall, in the Royal Docks, Newham, before they head back to the boardroom for the agonising final decision.
