Long Bar Sanderson Hotel London - Lounge Bar Review

I have had the pleasure of going to Long Bar at The Sanderson Hotel before but this particular visit has cemented it in my mind as the go-to place for all drinks fresh, spicy and totally unexpected.

The Venue

Greeted by the bright white light and stand-out art installations in the foyer, we were shown to our table on the terrace by our waitress for the evening. The Sanderson is an interesting place to visit with the almost glowing Long Bar off to the right of the main entrance. Décor-wise Long Bar is opulent in the details, expect modern chandeliers, impressive sculptures and gilt framed portraits. The main decoration of the bar are the beautiful people and surprisingly this seems to work well for them.

The outside terrace where we were sat was a little more laid back than the bar; thankfully there were heaters everywhere to keep us warm and toasty since, let's face it, spring has not yet officially sprung in London!

The terrace is a great spot to enjoy the sunshine and enjoy some sex and the city style cocktails.

The Food and Drinks

Our waitress Billie was sweet, funny and knowledgable about all of the drinks. She gave us some recommendations but I chose to opt for an Old Havana as my first drink. This Old Havana was made from Bacardi gold, elderflower cordial, lime juice and a separate shot of rose Laurent Perrier Champagne. This gives you a spicy and fizzy combination that is altogether smooth and a delight as the Champagne really opens up the flavours of the cocktail. Really tasty and easily my favourite.

My date went for a classic with a twist, the Basil and Strawberry Caipirinha. This was sweet and easy to drink (I just had to have a sip). We ordered the chicken satay, just a little something to nibble on with our drinks. The skewers were served with a cube of rice and peanut sauce, which I loved. We worked our way through the cocktail list, and I have to say, they were all pretty special and come highly recommended.

Long Bar is mesmerizing with its stylish interior, one of London's best bars.

The Ambience and Clientele

Long Bar was packed full of models and what seems like all of the good looking people in Central London. They must flock here, partly because of each other, but also thanks to the impeccable style of the place. So if you’re looking for a glamorous date night spot, or somewhere to meet some eligible singles, then Long Bar might be your ideal nightspot.

At night the terrace area of Long Bar is seductive and classy, a great date night spot in London.

Summary

I must say this was one of the best reviews I have had the pleasure of writing. Not just because of the great atmosphere but the staff who came over one by one to introduce themselves and tempt us with their recommendations, from the drinks to the food to the desserts. This is a well-run establishment that is highly deserving of its stellar reputation. I’m hooked, and you will be too!
