  • 19:00 - 22:00

If you love colour, this is the workshop for you! Get the chance to not only learn how to make linocut prints, but try out lots of different ways of playing with ink, to transform your print with colour. These include rainbow gradient rolling, using multiple rollers, using selective pressure, mixing tints, tones and colour theory.

Suitable for all levels, including complete beginners - no experience in printing or art necessary! For those who have already attended one of our lino workshops, this is a colourful way to develop your practice - we’ll be doing lots of new techniques! Dates, birthdays and family nights out have all had a great time at our past workshops - invite a friend and use our 2 for £35 ticket offer! Come and join us for this low pressure, sociable and fun workshop.

You will be making your own relief prints using linoleum. Linocut, a derivative of woodcut, is a printmaking process in which images are carved from a piece of lino (think kitchen floor tiles). Once the image has been carved into the lino, it is coated with ink from a roller and pressed onto paper to create images. In this workshop, you will get to try out an adapted mini printing press and try hand burnishing your prints. This is a printing process you can easily continue at home.

To minimise creative anxieties and maximise time available for inking and printing, we will be using a continuous line drawing exercise to design our prints in this workshop. You can create a print freehand or based on a simple image (think plants, birds, buildings for easy inspiration or we will have images for you to use on the night). Throughout the workshop, you can get 1:1 support with your design from artist Reanna Keer-Keer.

All materials are provided and you will be able to take home 3-4 prints of your image along with your carved lino which you can re use for more prints. The size of the lino used is 100x150mm.
