The Book Club

Description

Spread over two spacious floors of a former Victorian warehouse on Leonard Street, The Book Club has been kitted out for eating, drinking, thinking and meeting. The interior blends the raw, pared-down character of the factory building with layers of bespoke furniture, giving it a cosy second-home feel, plus features constantly evolving exhibitions that adorn the walls.

By day, the venue serves up an imaginative cocktail menu – as well as the classics for those who know what they want in a drink – plus a belly-warming food menu, including their famous burger and their hearty bowl food. As well as cocktails there are a good selection of wines, beers and spirits, so you won't go thirsty. For those who are currently working from home and want a change of scenery, bring your laptop and join the venue team on their ground floor - there's a promise that the coffee is just as strong as the WIFI! Plus the airy, luminous space will keep you level-headed and working a optimum capability.

By night, the venue offers a cultural revolution to the East End’s social scene turning the conventional arts institution on its head, fusing booze with brain power every night of the week with a thought-provoking programme of events. You can currently catch DJs on Friday and Saturday evenings. Again, the drinks will be a-flowing.

As well as the ground floor, the basement of The Book Club really ramps up in the later hours of the day, boasting a top-of-the-range sound system, a large bar, a spacious seating area located under their infamous 2,200 lightbulb ceiling and, of course, a DJ booth and dance floor. It also has a cloakroom, toilets and a photobooth so is a great self-sufficient space.

Whether it’s for a cocktail or three, lunch or brunch, a game of ping pong on their famous table, or just for the hell of it, stop by and say hi – the staff would love to see you!

The Book Club London - DJ Bar Review

The Book Club London - DJ Bar Review

Tucked away in the lively heart of East London, The Book Club is not the standard trendy Shoreditch bar. With a vast programme of forward-thinking events, including exhibitions, club nights, video game parties, film screenings and ping-pong tournaments, this is a unique spot in London, so I headed down…
