In the shadow of Liverpool Street station sits Be At One Spitalfields. A cocktail haven if ever there was one; the bar is part of the much loved chain that have practically taken over London with their infectious style and amazing happy hours.
From the outside we could barely see the venue through crowds of after work drinkers engulfing the small square in front. As we squeezed our way inside, it soon became clear how small Be At One Spitalfields really is. With three or four small tables, the bar itself takes up the majority of the venue, and the whole place is abuzz with guests tucking into their drinks.
The Atmosphere and Clientele
On a sunny Friday evening the venue was a multitude of after work drinkers from local offices. The age range was huge, from groups of young ladies enjoying some fruity tipples, to smart groups sipping beers and soaking up the last of the day’s sunshine.
Be At One pride themselves in providing a fun and vibrant drinking experience; this is only aided by the staff, who cheer, whoop, sing and strut their way around the bar. I have to say, it really does cheer you up after a slow day at the office.
Be At One are cocktail wizards. In short, they really know how to mix a good drink. Having been to one or two of their establishments before, I already had my eye on a few of the cocktails before I sat down.
We started with a round of Cuban Zombies – one of the strongest drinks on the menu, with four types of rum in the mix. Despite packing a punch, they were really tasty, my idea of a good cocktail. We also enjoyed a lovely Banana Belafonte, which was a lovely blended mix of banana, Pina Colada mix and ice cream – sweet, smooth and delightful.
Be At One Spitalfields is a great little cocktail bar. Perfectly located on the outskirts of the City, the happy hour draws in the crowds, and for good reason. The service is great, the drinks are really well put together, and the vibe is upbeat. If you are looking for somewhere to kick back and relax near Liverpool Street, then look no further.
