Ruby Blue sits in the bustling Leicester Square surrounded by fine London theatres, a perfect destination for those looking for a night out in the West End. Leicester Square Tube Station is less than a 1-minute walk away.

They recommend starting with one of their amazing cocktails on the balcony which has unique views over the buzzing madness of Leicester Square. The perfect spot for star gazing as it provides a birds eye view of the star studded red carpets below.

It offers up a happily affordable restaurant for those looking for early evening meals and snacks as well as pre-theatre dinner, a buzzing bar with one of the best happy hours in London between 5 & 8pm, Sunday- Friday.

If the night just keeps rolling on, don't worry Ruby Blue is a fun night where there are 3 bars, 2 rooms and 2 DJs so you can dance to your heart's content to the latest chart, r&b and party anthems until 3am. There is usually a cover charge into Ruby Blue after 9pm but they do run a guest list where entry is at a discounted price. Popular later on for parties, groups and bar crawls. Choose Ruby Blue for your big night out in London.

Typical west end club but usually play urban music.

Have had a good few great nights here, the music is great, drinks are well priced and I LOVE the balcony over looking Leicester Square!

Awful place! Seats in resturant are ripped and fixed with black tape! Air vent has thick dust over it like it hasnt been cleaned in years! The floor looks scarched, dirty and worn out. I booked it a week in advance for my birthday and when I arrived was told the vegan menu that was emailed to me the kitchen had none of it. all the tables had balloons on it. i staff member picked up a balloon from a nearby table walked over put it on my table and said, "happy birthday!" The balloon didnt even say happy birthday. The staff were clueless about the menue and although the manager was nice he could barely understand or speak english. This is my 1st ever review I have ever written but it was so bad I felt compelted to warn other people about wasteing their time and money.

Not the best club around but has a nice atmosphere. Bit of a mixed crowd. Music was okay and has more than one room. Drinks were reasonably priced. Charges can be high if arriving late.

Went for a night out with a friend Found drinks very expensive Alot of tourists but you find that due to the area

Lacked in so much. Poor service with waiter not understanding or listening to foord or drink order, Food was sub-standard when it eventually arrived. No loo roll in toilets. Wouldn't recommend. One star is far too much

Visited here last night, was a really nice place and the place looked really glammed up. It was Bridget Jones's Baby premiere, so it was a good view just overlooking on the balcony and people watching. It was really nice. Great portion of food! I ordered grilled salmon, and it was soo yummyyy!! Great price to order 2 sides and a sauce!! I ordered courgette fries (which was really oily - cooked in batter. Just wanted to try as I never tried before) and green beans. Also ordered 2 cocktails: Tennesse Cooler and Tuesday Rock Star, they tasted really nice, not too strong. Great value of Money. As drinks and food were all 50% off! Bargain!! Would def come here again!!

Love Ruby Blue! Really good location and the interior is insane. Entry is fairly inexpensive for a London venue (and you get a free drink) yet the vibe is of somewhere exclusive.

I want to specify a few things before i start... Because this is a bit upsetting. We were having an amazing time at the bar before this incident occurred with a member of staff. I understand that the job the staff at any bar do is stressful and anyone can be a target when venting for relief is needed. But our experience about a month ago was disgraceful.. We were enjoying our night as any group of friends would and when i went up to the bar with my girlfriend the girl behind the bar uttered a disgusting racial remark to my partner. I had to take a second take because i thought i had misheard something... her response "You heard me" clarified that i was right in what i heard. I do hope you sort out your staff and maybe one day we will come back.

Great music however the small dance floor is never fully packed so it just feels a bit empty and quiet. Drinks are expensive and the staff are rude to put it nicely. Wouldn't advise it if you're wanting to go clubbing.

I was in the bathroom, quietly washing my hands and face, and taking a few sips of water when one of their employees grabbed me by the scruff of my collar, ruthlessly dragged me out of the bathroom and threw me down 2 flights of stairs. I didn't attempt to resist the force of this attack because I wanted witnesses / other customers to see how this employee was treating me, and I knew that if I reacted, it would go against my case. This employee therefore concluded that I couldn’t stand up and that I was drunk when in fact my body just shut down out of complete shock. When I enquired both of the gentlemen bouncers outside the front entrance for his name, both of them refused to help me, one of them mockingly calling me "James Bond". I pleaded with them several times to speak with the manager, and was assured that the manager would be present as soon as possible. When the manager did not arrive, I walked back inside in an attempt to find an alternative member of staff. I was dragged off the stairs and thrust to the floor. Again, I didn't resist the attack too afraid to react in case they would hurt me. The manager did come out yet I was not made aware that he was the manager. It happened quickly, without warning, and I was in shock, not wanting to react because I knew that would make the situation worse. To them, I had appeared visibly weak and for that reason I was stigmatised and targeted. When I reported this to the club via email and phone, the marketing manager was understandably very helpful, assured me that it's not the way that the night club expect their customers to be treated and followed up the case. However, the general manager was unsympathetic and not only misrepresented the details but put their company interests above the customer's, and was therefore unable to resolve my complaint. The experience I had at the hands of their staff was nothing less than physical assault, bullying and criminalisation, an attack completely devoid of warning or justification. If you wish to pay money to enter a hostile, night club environment, complete with aggressive and cavalier staff who make you feel uncomfortable and treat you like a criminal, who repay you through violent attacks and verbal rudeness, and who deny you the right to seek on-the-night justification from the management, then this is the place for you.

I love Ruby Blue. It's not pretentious, does a great happy hour and is just a really great place to have a good night without trying too hard to be overly classy or trendy!

Had good night on saturday evening, Stayed in the balcony area as we had a table booked. Only thing I would change was the music, the mash up of up to 3 songs at a times was not working at all. Really hard to dance to 3 different songs that have basically been sped up over a dance track. Drinks offer would be great for those that have made group reservations.

I went to Ruby Blue with my friend on a Wednesday night and it was completely dead. Not to mention the few people that were there were quite older than us, we are both 19. The DJ wasn't the best either. Seems like a nice place for drinks and chatting with friends but not for dancing or clubbing.
by on June 5th, 2014

With the help of amazingly helpful Kayleigh from my friends and I decided to chance Ruby Blues. I was slightly worried as we are all early forties and although fancied a night out dancing , I did not want to feel uncomfortably out of place. I booked a table and it was in a lovely bar with a dj, dance floor, toilets and beautiful outside balcony overlooking Leicester Square. The main club was downstairs but as we had everything we needed right there we didn't even bother. It was just perfect. Great dance music, a round of 6 vodkas were £35 a round so not too bad and a mixed crowd that although were younger didn't make us feel unwelcome . I would so go again!

Good spot if you find yourself in Leicester Square mid-week, great for a bit of a dance, and the crowd are a nice bunch too.

Average bar in central London, perfect for a stop if you're on your way back home.
by on March 1st, 2013

Good for a few after work drinks, as the happy hour is pretty reasonable. They do an ok pre-theatre menu too for around £11.00 each.

This is actually a fairly good bet if you are looking for food or drinks in London. Its a killer happy hour, 50% off so we tucked into that and surprisingly the terrace has great views over leicester square. I think ruby blue cranks up after 9pm so if you want some dancing then this is the place to come.

Had a night out here a few weeks ago as part of my company's christmas party. Sadly we were sharing some of the floor with some other parties too, but we still enjoyed a good number of complimentary drinks and the staff were very helpful. Great location overlooking the square, easy to get to. Ended up missing the last tube but managed to catch a bus! Good night out for a crowd of you, but not the most intimate of places.
