Emmet Scanlan & What the Good Thought are an Independent folk/rhythm n blues act, with members from Ireland, Sweden, New Zealand and the UK, whose music veers away from the usual yet is embraced by all of those who hear it.
The band originally formed in Ireland, but have been based in London for the past 4 years. Over the past few years the band have had some significant successes! They have played numerous prestigious festivals worldwide : The Wickerman Festival (Scotland), The Electric Picnic (Ireland) and The International Folk Alliance (USA). The list of artists they have supported is diverse in style and includes Femi Kuti, Badly Drawn Boy and The Saw Doctors.
Emmet also provided the soundtrack to the shoot film 'Without Words', which has been awarded a Cannes Festival award by Spike Lee and viewed over 400,000 times online.
2014 saw the release of their new EP, From the Inside Out. They Toured to support this in Germany, Ireland and the U.K.
Emmet Scanlan & WTGT released their new EP, These are the dreams, This is the life, on October 28th and celebrated this with a tour in Ireland and England.
HARI PRIYA
Introducing the extremely talented Hari Priya.
A 21 year old talented singer songwriter from Hertfordshire.
Coming from a musical family Hari Priya grew up listening and watching her dad who was in a jazz band play saxophone around the house. This then gave her the encouragement to peruse her own music career. She began taking an interest in writing music after buying her first album at the age of 9, The diary of Alicia Keys. She then learned to play piano, saxophone and the guitar. Age 9 she got her first real taste in music having starred in The west end musical The Lion King As young Nala. Aged 10 she got her first big break at her young age featuring on her fathers album.
After writing the song by herself that gave her the confidence she needed to take her singing and songwriting seriously.
Hari Priya has been doing numerous live shows in and around London, showcasing all her musical talents and getting into the live music scene. She is currently working hard on her first Ep having already been in sessions with the likes of Futurecutes,Tristan Longworth, Jonathon Allen, Jack Gourlay, Wayne Hector and more which will be out later this year!
Tom is a 24 year old singer/songwriter who gigs across London entertaining crowds with his easy-listening acoustic pop, and makes his return to Roof Gardens after featuring on the main stage at the summer Reverb festival!'
