This enticing cocktail bar is spread over two floors, with guests able to enjoy a casual tapas menu downstairs whilst the more formal dining takes place on the upper floor. Guests are treated to an authentic list of Spanish cocktails, wine, food and music, with DJs on hand to move things through the gears on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays right up until 3am!

If there's one thing for certain, its that Salvador & Amanda's guests are always well entertained. There's something quirky and interesting going on every day of the week, and great offers to be had too; happy hour offers great cocktail deals on Mondays and you can get your hands on a litre of Sangria for a tenner on Wednesdays. Excellent service and lovely food. We had a great night, thank you for making our party so special. visited Salvador & Amanda Bloomsbury on 30 Nov 2016

Very poor service, minimal attention from serving staff wich was astounding since there were only two other tables with guests seated, bad communication and body language. Limited menu choice, no main courses available, food was fresh but nothing special. Overall very dissappointing. visited Salvador & Amanda Bloomsbury on 26 Nov 2016

Had my birthday there and a nice area set aside for my guests. Friendly atmosphere and staff were very polite - especially considering how cramped the area was for them to reach us to serve our food. We tried to keep moving out of the way but the waitresses repeatedly came over and always said excuses politely and didn't barge. Live band were a nice touch without being too intrusive and friendly as well. The menu is most certainly got Latin routes but there was plenty to choose from should you not fancy something too typical. I've lived in London for 8 years and always overlooked this place. I highly recommend it if you're after a nice night out with a good friendly atmosphere. The type of people that come reflects the company and I think this is where the place shines. It doesn't have a club/pub gimmick it's got an element of sophistication without doing a number to your wallet. So if you haven't been yet just nip in to check it out and you won't regret it! visited Salvador & Amanda Bloomsbury on 12 Nov 2016

Two of us went on Saturday night, we were offered a choice of seats. We were asked if we liked seafood as a veggie option was available. The cava was nice, the food was good, the staff did not rush you, I thought it was enough for two people to share, bread, olives, a nice sized piece of salmon, squid prawns followed by patas bravas and two nice meat dishes (chorizo and lamb). Nice portion of cheeses to follow with crispy fruit toast. Music was nice and Spanish and I liked the chilled feel about the place. We ordered a bottle of Malbec which was reasonably priced for London washed down with Kaluha and ice before we left. Would I go back? definitely. Maybe the music could be extended for a little longer. I felt it finished a little early Jan visited Salvador & Amanda Bloomsbury on 24 Sep 2016

Tasty food and fantastic service was very good, great Spanish music we shall be back as we so enjoyed ourselves. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends. We had a groupon deal and was well worth the money. santosp visited Salvador & Amanda Bloomsbury on 20 Aug 2016

Food, as ever., was wonderful, can't fault it. Table service was slow, which is unusual. Have lost count of how many times we have eaten here and just keep coming back. I prefer the Vernon Street branch, more cosy for chatting and meeting friends. Great cocktail list too... Despite the slow service, we still finished on time to collect theatre tickets down the road. lesleym visited Salvador & Amanda Bloomsbury on 04 Aug 2016

Great night. Booked the VIP area for my birthday and 12 of my friends who loved it. Preordered drinks and cold nibbles were already on the table. Amazing service and a atmosphere. A variety of appetisers to choose from to go on the sharing platter.

I went here for my birthday about a week ago on a Saturday night. Arrived at 5pm and had some tapas upstairs. We then moved downstairs in a area given to us by the manager for drinks and live music, which then turned into a DJ. A cute little venue - small enough for your event to be intimate but big enough so that an atmosphere is created. Food was great. Really chilled/fun mix in vibe! devni visited Salvador & Amanda Bloomsbury on 20 Feb 2016

Went there for their Valentines evening - food was amazing, and great value at £35 a head (including a bottle of champagne). There was live music which I'm not sure worked that well, and we were among the younger patrons (we're in our mid-twenties) which we weren't expecting! I hosted my wife's 40th birthday party on a Saturday evening. After looking quite extensively we chose it as it was a nice place and my wife really liked the staff who were super friendly. We rented the upstairs area for the night and had wine, beer and Cava and a stand up buffet of various tapas we selected. It could not have been better. We had a fantastic bartender/assistant (Adrian) who was incredibly helpful and attentive. Really thought ahead of what we would need in terms of food and drinks etc (walked the room, timed the food delivery, helped with cake etc ) so we could relax and just enjoy the party. They allowed us to bring our own music (my wife likes Salsa), and they could isolate the upstairs sound so we could really hold our own party (in fact on the night the music was pretty good for us anyway so we only really used at the end for a bit of dancing to our favorites). Food was great, drinks great and all quite reasonable for a bar in Holborn. The preparation up to it was fine as well. They sent out menus for us to select from, and generally when we turned up on the night all went without a hitch. Would have no hesitation in recommending. dyoung678 visited Salvador & Amanda Bloomsbury on 30 Jan 2016

Appalling service from both branches of Salvador & Amanda in the space of 24 hours. I booked the Covent Garden branch through Opentable only for my reservation to be cancelled shortly after as apparently they were fully booked even though Opentable allowed the reservation. I then thought I would try the Bloomsbury branch which I booked through the S&A website (which defaults to 'Design my Night') and for which I received a confirmation of my booking. The next day, 24 hours after I'd made my booking and 3 hours before I was due to go for dinner, S&A rang me to say that they were cancelling my booking as they did not have availability. I have no idea why it took them 24 hours to decide this, but it left me with no dinner reservation for 6 people on a Saturday night when I had friends visiting from out of town. I will NEVER consider S&A again. The rating of 1 star is only because it isn't possible to rate zero. sarice visited Salvador & Amanda Bloomsbury on 30 Jan 2016

Hi 'Stickyrice' I will apologise over the Open Table booking, they do not have direct access to book customers into our system and simply send us enquiry emails. Their communications with customers should state they are simply 'enquires' not confirmed bookings. If you would like to discuss your experience with Bloomsbury please email myself, as I cannot find your information from you user name here on DMN, regards, Greg Head of Group Marketing

I will not be visiting this place again after our terrible experience!! Firstly I had no call back from the restaurant to confirm the booking and had to chase them up. I was informed that we need to pay a £50 deposit (on a TUESDAY evening) but because the lady was unwell who takes the bookings, we were allowed to book without the deposit. When we turned up at the restaraunt, I had the restaraunt manager shout at me because apparently he called me a few times and left voicemails (NONE of which I received) and he asked why we never paid the deposit. I mentioned that his colleague had said it was fine! We later showed him the 50% off voucher email that I had received, and again he shouted at us for not informing them. Apparently the voucher is only valid for 4 people (yet there were 10 of us). The manager was EXTREMELY rude and I and my friends are so put off EVER visiting this place again!! Without us, the restaraunt would have been empty on a Tuesday evening, so I would've thought he would appreciate our service - I guess not! This nearly ruined my friends surprise birthday dinner!! a_g visited Salvador & Amanda Bloomsbury on 26 Jan 2016

Hi A_G, As we wrote to your identical TripAdivsor review; Dear A B, I had spoken with our manager about your visit before you posted this review in fact. I was informed that you were unhappy that our '50% off offer', was not valid for your whole booking - it states this in the terms and conditions of the e-shot. We have been told that you said to the manager that you were going to leave bad reviews all over the internet because of this. If you would like to discuss this with me please do email myself. I will be reviewing the CCTV footage, of yourself and the manager talking at the bar, regards, Greg Head of Group Marketing

Location is very convenient (2-3mins from Holborn station), food was amazing (we had like 10-12 tapas dishes to share for 4 people), service was fast and very nice and entertainment was good too. Amazing night out! The tapas were delicious but the best was the live music! It would have been better if the tapas were brought together rather than one by one, though. Would recommend it for a romantic outing!

Booked a table for 20 plus but the night did not go as planned. There wasn't many things they have got right. We had a preorder of tapas for the group. Each plate came out separately so it didn't feel like a meal at all. The meatballs tasted funny and the pork just looked old. The only nice dishes were the calamari and the patatas bravas. The paella came right at the end when we were thinking of leaving. So basically the food was a disaster. It was also very hot as one of the fans did not work. The staff however were very friendly. All in all I won't be returning or recommending it to others. Charlene visited Salvador & Amanda Bloomsbury on 12 Sep 2015

Booked the restaurant area for 25 people for a birthday celebration and had a brilliant night. The staff were really helpful with the organisation in advance, and on the night it all went perfectly - the food was amazing and brought out at a good pace. Great dancing afterwards in the bar downstairs!

I celebrated my birthday in Salvador &Amanda Bloomsbury. I haven't been there before, but I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to arrange the booking, pre-order food to be served at a particular time, pre-pay for the cake. Everything I asked for was arranged. 10 of us had a lovely night with attentive waitresses and delicious food. All staff was extremely eager to help. The music band was great and DJ too. Not many people danced however we did and it was fun! The security on the door could be more welcoming of guests though as some of my friends were asked abruptly whether they had a booking. All in all, food/drink and service was fantastic and couldn't be more pleased I chose this place.

We went for the Espanola Wednesdays deal - Unlimited Ribs or Calamari for £9.50 which was absolutely fantastic value! The calamari was moreish and the sangria and cocktails kept things going down smoothly. I would say that we would have loved quicker food and drink service to make this a perfect evening, but overall I would highly recommend.
17 Jul 2015 by Leobenmc

On the positive the food was lovely but it is more of a party place and quite loud. It was just hubby and I and we couldn't really hear the Spanish guitar which was disappointing but I would return with a large group of friends
16 Jul 2015 by wycwand

Had a very good experience. Maria that attend the booking by email was very helpful. Once there everything was as agreed. We were near a live spanish guitarist as agreed. Food was delicious and i though it would be not enough for 12 as were just taps but it was more than enough! Attention was very good and as agreed we had a reserved space in party area downstair where we spend rest of night with really good music. Would recommend to anyone!
13 Jul 2015 by dcarles

we booked through a deal and wasn't expecting too much, however the food was lovely, plentiful and hot. the salmon and prawns were great. Staff were friendly and accommodated anything you needed. The only downfall was a horrid smell in the upstairs of the restaurant, thankfully we had finished eating but others hadn't. i pointed it out to staff who sprayed freshener. we would definitely return. thank you

We held a 'leaving do' for a colleague on Friday. We shared the set menu of tapas and enjoyed happy hour! The evening was a great success with everyone, with the added bonus of music and dancing till late! Only downside was the repetitive music for 2 hours, hence early departure!
06 Jul 2015 by carolchessis

Lovely venue and great good & big for tapas too. We had an Amazon taster tapas with cava fir £19 each. Unfortunately we went on a night when it was really quiet so we were disappointed with that. Also drink were expensive. I was given Bacardi gold (not offered a standard Bacardi) £7 per single which I think is too much.Dx

The food was great. Service was friendly, however they seemed to forget about us during the night. Sangria was overly sweet but well worth trying. Will hope to go back soon.

My fourth visit to Salvador and Amandas, the food just keeps getting better! Excellent and authentic dishes that leave us spoilt for choice. Also excellent red wine! See you again soon

*comment moderated*, stained toilets, no toilet seat, soap & tissue. Complained twice at the disgrace of it all 4 hours later still bad! I won't be going back again on account of this.
20 Feb 2015 by Claire

I have reviewed this restaurant on Tripadvisor a few times and always given a very high rating, I was however disappointed after dining there on Wed 4 February. We ordered bread and crisps to snack on with our wine then ordered a variety of tapas, the crisps didn't arrive with the bread, the waiter then brought all 9 tapas dishes at once with the crisps! The food was not warm, there wasn't space on the table and the ribs were the worst I have ever had..On previous visits the tapas has always come at good intervals, I felt we were being pushed out, I am not sure I will return.
06 Feb 2015 by missfoodlove

As ever, food was outstanding. My niece lived in Barcelona for four years and says it was the best tapas she's had since coming home. Service was a little slower than previous visits, took awhile to get coffees ordered and Bill paid. 5th meal here over the past year!!
05 Feb 2015 by lesleym

Wonderful atmosphere and ambiance. Tapas menu was great even though I'm not a fish lover. Can't stand olives either but their's were lovely. Service was very good and the Spanish guitarist was very authentic authentic.
28 Jan 2015 by sidneylarkin

The food was good value at Bloomsbury at 50% off but most of the dishes were only just warrm so spoilt the experience. Drinks good value during happy hour. Preferred my dining experience at your Covent Garden restaurant
22 Jan 2015 by arsenal14

Hi, we had a great night as the food and company was great. Our lunch lasted nearly 6 hours so a lot of wine and beer was consumed. I was however disappointed on 4 counts: 1) we did not get sat in the more personal seating that was promised, there were only 2 other tables occupied for the majority of our time 2) it was my birthday and my friend's birthday but no recognition of that whatsoever 3) the waiter hardly spoke to us, he was efficient but not friendly at all. 4) Bearing in mind we spent over £350 (of which about £300 was alcohol) and the points above it would have been a good gesture to have had one round of drinks on the house. That would guarantee we'd come back at least. Overall it was good and the food was great, just felt a little let down.
21 Dec 2014 by ballyb

Our experince was really bad. The music downstairs is so loud, that the resuarant is pointless upstairs, especially if you were planning a nice romantic dinner for 2 (the direct website of Salvador and Amanda had nothing saying you do club nights on Friday) I especially loved the Salvador and Amanda restaurant in Covent Garden, so thought we would try the bloomsbury one for my birthday. We finished eating as fast as possible (45 mins) and left. The food was fine, but the service was so bizarre. They had Christmas carols upstairs, and club techno music downstairs, making it a ridiculous dining experience. The candle on our table was melted throughout the table, and the waitress sighed when I asked her to change the candle. All in all, not a good night out at all! The 1 star is just for the food being OK.

We've tried many Spanish restaurants, and Sadly S & A is just an OK one. Nothing outstanding I'm afraid. For instance, the Jamon Iberico was cut too thick and the ratio meat/fat was wrong. Almost 95 % of our order was fat. Not great quality... Not saying the restaurant is bad, but just that you can find better. I don’t think we’ll be back there... :(

I came here on a Saturday night with some friends and had a total blast. I am a huge Dali fan so loved the decor with some fantastic photos and prints to look at. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, they made us feel so welcome. The rosemary and mango mojitos were superb, went down far too easily! We tried a few other cocktails, all of them yummy but the unusual mojito and the Passion Fruit and Valencia Mandarin Mule were definitely my favourites. As for food, well being Spanish I often laugh at what some restaurants insultingly call tapas but I was not disappointed. The tapas here are really mouth wateringly good, really scrumptious and of superb quality. We had a delightful array of tapas including pimientos de padron, cured hams, manchego cheese, wild mushrooms, black rice with squid & prawns, baby squid, albondigas, chorizo lollypops. All of it was cooked to perfection and was wolfed down with much gusto. As it was a Saturday night they had a DJ playing and we ended up staying until 3am dancing and drinking with a very friendly crowd. We left tired and very happy indeed and will certainly return to this cool hangout. Forget cheap imitations of Spanish tapas, this is the place to be at. Thank you so much Design my Night and Salvador & Amanda!

A very disappointing dining experience at S&A in Holborn!!!!!! The waiter was arrogant and dismissive, forgot to bring the drinks we ordered to the table to begin with. The food that arrived on the table did not match the food ordered (wrong steak) and part of the order was missing altogether..... Not even an apology?! Yet the service charge is included and the waiter nowhere to be found to dispute it. It was my first and definitely the last time in the Holborn branch, I will be going to the one in Leicester Square instead.

YES! YES! YES! magnificent yes to this lovely chaotic venue! We had an amazing party anthems night, and our feet were aching in the morning! Got all that lovely bubbly energy that you need to be rejuvenated after a chaotic week at work! Also, their food is incredibly tasty - the crocked egg on a bed of mashrums let me day dreaming of how my wife should improver her cooking skills - I think I will send her to the Salvador and Amanda Cooking School!

Went here last saturday night and it was buzzing!! Its a strange one cos its not in a buzzy area - bloomsbury is central but still not a hub. Great drinks, no nonsense or pretence. Fun time music. And we partied till 3 I think!! A really goood find!
14 Feb 2013 by whisky_missed

I couldn't be happier with my night last Saturday thanks to these guys. We had been let down by a restaurant down the road as they double booked us and I'm so pleased to have gone to Salvador & Amanda instead. The cocktails are beautifully crafted and delicious and our meal was really top class - melt in your mouth steak and delicious tapas presented beautifully. We had great service and ended up staying way past the time we had planned as the music gets really good later and there is a decent dance area. I highly recommend going here - the fact that it is tucked away a bit adds to its charm too - hidden gem doesn't quite cover it!
