SMITHS of Smithfield is the original in all day drinking & dining. A 4 floor emporium, that showcases top quality meat from British farmers, butchered in-house and cooked to perfection, local seasonal produce, classic cocktails as you would expect them and others with a twist, good wine and a list of craft beers that will make you think you can hear 5pm on a Friday just by looking at it.
The ground floor is open early and can be known to host Smithfield Market workers for their early morning, post shift pint. For those with more traditional working hours you'll find English breakfasts, pancakes, pies, burgers, throughout the day. This floor turns into a boozer post 5pm. If you are in a group, reserving a table is recommended. Pre-order drinks packages are available. The building has a glass frontage and a long pewter bar overlooking the railway tracks, and more raw concrete, reclaimed timber and sand blasted brickwork than you can shake a stick at, this is a stylish space.
The SOS Craft Market on the 1st floor has a more relaxed vibe with soft furnishings and cosy booths. Peruse a list of almost 60 Craft Beers, the vast majority of which are from London as well as snacks to fit the tipple - pork scratchings, pork pies, sausage rolls and beef dripping popcorn. This floor doubles up as a private hire space, with 2 private rooms that can also be hired together, suitable for meetings, presentations, tastings &special occasions. They serve morning and afternoon tea, as well as canapés for up to fifty. Head upstairs to the open plan dining room, boasting its own clay oven, chargrills and wok burners, serving up a selection of seasonal dishes and market specials in a friendly atmosphere. The top floor restaurant & terrace offers panoramic views of the city and serves luxurious British and seasonal dishes alongside fine wines with the option to dine al fresco upon the rooftop terrace.
