Roadtrip Bar London - DJ Bar Review

Roadtrip Bar is at the forefront of trendy Shoreditch, located a short walk from Old Street Station into Hoxton. I've ventured this way many a time but it's always been on my way to work, so I was delighted to finally pass beyond the palm trees on a fine Saturday evening and explore the very popular track that is Roadtrip Bar.

The Venue

If you've frequented East London before you'll understand what I mean by 'Shoreditch-chic', if not, then read on. Roadtrip Bar is a revelry of vintage furniture, old school music paraphernalia and road signs that look like they've been had directly from Route 66. It's a rock 'n' roll bar, the like of which you see in movies where tearaways drink dirty Margaritas, but still consistent with that cool East-London style.

The Ambience and Clientele

Owing to its proximity to Old Street station you get all types there. Roadtrip is clearly a great place for people to stop and chill between their respective journeys or for drinks before heading out to Hoxton or Brick Lane. But that's not to suggest it isn't worth sticking around at Roadtrip, in fact I found it hard to leave. This I gratefully blame on the quality atmosphere and fun live DJ set that clearly lacked pretence, I was bitten by the Roadtrip bug.

The Drinks

You'll want for nothing at Roadtrip especially if you're doing your best to carve through their extensive cocktail selection. The quality atmosphere that Roadtrip creates seemed to make every drink taste that bit cooler and the zesty zing of my Caipirinha made light work of quenching my thirst. The bottled beer selection is a bit of a trip itself, so vast is the choice. Thankfully I had the friendly bar staff acting as tour guides as I was decisively indecisive; eventually I settled for a Hendricks gin and tonic, how very stereotypically English of me! But no matter what your tipple is, Roadtrip will deliver with aplomb.

With a nice terrace area, you can even enjoy some alfresco cocktails in the summer.

What to say about Roadtrip Bar. In short, I'll be skipping the first train home from work and stopping by for a post work drink more often, which will no doubt turn into a night of drinking and dancing, captivating as Roadtrip is. Much like my expertly made Caipirinha cocktail, Roadtrip is cool, refreshing and always lively! Highly recommended, but don't take my word for it, give Roadtrip a go yourself.
