Balans Soho Society are opening their seventh venue in Clapham, bringing their exaggerated fun and delicious food south of the river. The venue runs under the policy that ‘too much of a good thing is still a good thing’, with bold décor and a playful approach to food and drink. Serving brunch and dinner, with a licence until 2am, Balans acts as everything from a place to cure a hangover to somewhere to cause one.
What we say:
Balans Soho Society wears its excessive philosophy on its sleeve, with its bold colours, retro furnishings and playful cocktails, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t time for comfort. Not only is their newest venue kitted out with a fireplace and sofa to snuggle away those cold winter days, their menu is packed full of comfort food. The brunch, in particular, is everything you need to cure a hangover with dishes like The Soho Full English. Their cocktails live up to their Soho heritage by being equally punchy as they are cheeky, with Blueballs Smash and Great Balls of Fire giving a wink-and-a-nod from the menu.
