What they say:
DoubleTree by Hilton in the City are giving their twelfth floor Sky Lounge a major makeover. Throwing away the tamer aesthetic, they are embracing a ‘brutal yet sultry, urban yet opulent’ interior, which basically means everything’s a bit more bold, brash and open for a party. They’ll be boasting a north-facing terrace that’s been weather-proofed by a retractable roof, and this can be booked for private parties too. But once the warm weather kicks in, there’s a south-facing gin terrace, giving the venue 360 views of the London landscape.
What we say:
It’s not just the aesthetic that’s getting a revamp. Their cocktail list is curated by mixologist Andre Cavalheiro, who has created a theatrical menu with drinks like Wild Poison and Devil’s Advocate. Meanwhile, their Executive Chef Damien Chorley has created a small plates menu that aims to give the dishes ‘unexpected twists in flavour, presentation and/or plateware,’ so we're sitting squarely in "outside the box" territory here, folks. They plan to follow through on their name too, with a roster of DJs, musicians, and events to keep the party going.
