Description

Storming with the success of their Hoxton pop-up, The Dolls House adopt a dose of more concrete inspired cavorting as they take the reigns of what once was Islington's House of Wolf; transforming it into not only a lovingly hushed replica of their Hoxton kick-off, but a whimsical three floors of fun.

Playful and proud, the continued 'Roald Dahl-esque charm' finds a home in three Islington floors. Boasting signature illustrations and a lush neutral palate with flecks of colour, The Dolls House is split between the ground floor Parlour, 2nd floor Library and Dining Room, and a 3rd floor Ballroom.

Food is one of the main frolics to be enjoyed at The Dolls House, with a menu that correlates with the fantastically simple and charming interiors of the venue. Please your palate with the likes of 'pigs head croquettes with romesco', or 'Dead Dolls burger with fermented horseradish aioli, truffled pecorino & onion marmalade'. It's not only the food menu that tailors to a cool craft, cocktails at The Dolls House boast a punchy yet simple charm, as guests can indulge Pisco Sours, Negronis and Old Fashioned. Liquor laced whimsy.

This place rocks at the weekends so bring your dancing shoes!

The event we had in the Ballroom at The Deal Dolls House was so so good. We loved the venue, the management and staff there were all extremely helpful and polite. Food and drinks I can not fault at all. I would definitely go back there again! visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 18 Nov 2017

Positives: - Great decor and ambiance - Friendly and attentive staff - Value for Money Negatives: - Deals not clearly explained - i.e. The TimeOut voucher wasn't clearly explained upon purchase or at the restaurant. The kitchen closed earlier than expected and we weren't informed so the bottomless brunch seemed like a ruse. Overall: A recommended restaurant but deals (online/in-store) and things on the menu should be better explained visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 05 Nov 2017

We booked a room at the Dead Dolls House for a baby shower. The venue were excellent. Everything was so organised and they were on hand to sort out any questions we had such as a change of food order and bringing an extra table for the gifts. They really did everything they could to help out. The food was excellent and served just when we wanted. A special thank you to the staff who were so accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure we had a good day. Everyone commented on how good the venue was and I would definitely recommend it to others. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 12 Nov 2017

Giving 1 star as the actual venue was nice, however there was a table of screaming women sat the other side of the restaurant which kind of ruined the experience and made it hard for me to hear the person across the table. Service was also slow, and i found it a bit cheeky that considering that, they automatically put a 12.5% service charge on the bill. As well as that the food was nice but £8 for a standard beef burger was way too expensive and just made the whole experience disappointing. I would say it would have been good to go there for a drink, but not a dinner. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 11 Nov 2017

Had a voucher for bottomless brunch so pre-booked and reserved a table through email; this was easy and efficient. However, the rest of the experience was not as good. We were seated quickly enough but were very close to the door and it was cold. We felt ignored despite being in open view and being constantly walked past; we weren't given a menu to begin with and after 30 mins had to request to be given one. 10 mins later, we then had to ask to order. It was busy so you could understand to a point but when people who were seated 10 mins after us were served food just after we got our menu it got a bit silly. Food was ok and generous portions but not worth it. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 05 Nov 2017

My boyfriend and I had a lovely meal here on Sunday, the food was delicious (I had the friend chicken, waffle and maple syrup which I'd never tried together before - would highly recommend!) and we also had the bottomless drinks deal which genuinely is so good! We got through two jugs of mimosa between us and it was delicious and more than enough! The service is also really efficient and friendly. Great brunch spot! harrietleigh12 visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 05 Nov 2017

These guys were amazing from start to finish. We were celebrating my leaving the country and the booking process was seamless. Everyone was running late on the night, but the kitchen had no problem delaying our platters. And the cocktails were amazing! A huge thanks to the staff for making it such a great night. We had the £20 each bottomless brunch including; one main brunch item and a side and unlimited mimosas. We thought it was very good value for money the food was good. The mimosas were 50% orange juice which we got a bit sick of halfway through. Would recommend for a large group that want a cheap lunch option. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 28 Oct 2017

Booked a table for 6 for bottomless brunch (mimosas) for my sister's birthday. The mimosas were of variable quality - the first ones we had were flat. The second were much better, but the third was basically orange juice and we had to send it back to get a replacement. That said, the service of them was generally good (we didn't have to wait long to get more brought to the table). The quality of the food was good, but the service and quantity was poor. Four of us shared the Badboy breakfast (which costs £50). When it arrived there were a number of items listed on the menu which were missing to the point it hardly resembled the menu listing. We pointed this out and the staff said they would bring the missing items out. The manageress came over to see what the problem was and was apologetic and offered a discount on the bill which I thought was reasonable in the circumstances. Most of the missing items were brought to the table but we never received the waffles and syrup. When we queried whether these we on their way we were told that the kitchen had run out. The manageress was clearly embarrassed by the situation and gave us a further discount on the bill. It seems like a breakdown in communication between the kitchen and the wait staff on what items they actually had. Was disappointing that given how specific the menu was that the kitchen staff did not seem to know (or care) what went on the plate before it was sent out. I thought the manageress handled the situation well though but still disappointing experience for a special occasion. It's the 2nd time I have been to the venue but unlikely to rush back. I came here for brunch with some friends on a Sunday. First thing to point out is with a name like Dead Dolls House I was expecting some pretty crazy goth-type decor inside. It's a wild name that the decor just doesn't live up to unfortunately. It's not like it's badly decorated but it's fairly bland. We got there just as it opened so there were only two full tables and lots of staff standing around doing not very much. Which is why I can't understand why no one came over to our table to take drinks orders if not food. We had been sat there for about 20 minutes before I had to get up and go and ask someone if we could order drinks. It was a bottomless drinks brunch with a few options for drinks but apparently the whole table had to agree on one option because they were brought over in carafes. So we opted for mimosas which were heavy on the orange juice but at least the service improved from there and they did keep the the carafes coming and fortunately were in no hurry to kick us off the table after our allotted 2 hours were up. There was a lot of variety of brunch food options which I was impressed with and a fair few veggie options. The menu states that they can't make any changes/substitutions etc to the dishes which I thought was a bit mean but when I asked for my fried chicken and waffles without the bacon they were more than happy to do this so it's always worth asking. The fried chicken was really delicious and succulent and you get two really huge pieces of chicken breast. The waffle was overdone and a little disappointing. The sweet potato fries were very good though and I was absolutely stuffed by the end. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 22 Oct 2017

Our group and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the music. However, the staff, expect for one really nice gentleman who offered me a discount on my tab in the end to make up for all the confusion, were quite disorganised making ordering food a bit of a mission. First one of them didn’t know if you could order food at the counter, then my food arrived way after other friends’ who had orders after me and it was wrong. The waitress acknowledged that it was not what I ordered and kept asking whether I would have that instead! Finally the right dish came though and had to ask for napkins/cutlery as none were brought. The food was really good, If you don’t mind the faff! visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 21 Oct 2017

Everything in there was wrong dinning and club music.. Music too loud although DJ was good. I booked a table online; no record of booking. Staff seemed clueless. Waitress knocked drink on me at bar. No real apology just laughed at me; it was her fault. Food order was wrong ordered stake got stake sandwich but again once arrived was good quality. Service was slow really needed to open upstairs. We came for bottomless brunch, but had to wait 25 minutes past our arrival/start time before our first drink. When it did turn up, it was warm and flat (mimosa) although subsequent drinks were better. the food order was confused with the server coming to check with us before sending the order to the kitchen, and then it arrived wrong anyway. The food was average and cold, with the congealed layer of fat and baked beans covering the whole plate like it had been left under the heat lamp for too long. Having said that, service was friendly and it was a good atmosphere. vickyl visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 15 Oct 2017

VERY loud restaurant, had to shout to hear my friends next to me. I ordered the chicken and waffles, the batter on the chicken was quite oily and the chicken quite grobbly. Half way through the meal we were quite rudely asked to leave the table and re-locate ourselves to the bar even though our table was booked for 2 hours.....although this was a mistake on the waitresses part we were offered no apology and left us feeling like we were being rushed to finish. Had the bottomless mimosas which were refreshing and waiters and waitresses replenished quickly. All in all was glad we had a Timeout voucher for our brunch as I wouldn't have paid full price for the food or the experience we received. Unfortunately I feel like Dead Dolls House is another one of those overrated London restaurants that never lives up to the hype. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 14 Oct 2017

Where to start. After doing some research, I thought this may have been a quirky place to take my wife for dinner as it looks cool and vibrant online and perhaps it could have been if it was not for the poor service. We had reserved a table for 19:30 and upon arriving we made our way to the bar in which the bartender was alone and under some tension as it was fairly busy at this time. We had asked him that we have a reservation and he did mention he will sort it out. As we were not greeted upon entry, we had presumed that he could assist us to the table. after 10 - 15 minutes, what appeared to be the manager on duty pointed at a table to us and that was that. The table had guests sitting there before and we had noticed that the table itself was not cleaned nor cleared away before we sat down. We sat around for 15-20 minutes awaiting to be greeted by any member of staff and we were just totally ignored. Not to mention our booking name was wrong! There was no clear instruction as to the service was at the bar or at the table. We decided to get up and leave, upon leaving the manager? and bartender were chatting serving to one and the manager was eating behind the bar. They did not even seem bothered that we left after a short time even though we had made a booking. This experience has put my wife and I off from ever returning and we certainly have made a point of alerting everyone we know about our terrible experience. not worth the money and not worth the time as the staff clearly did not care! adam visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 10 Oct 2017

The Dolls House hosted our wedding reception in September. Emily was really helpful and responsive while we were planning the event and her team were great on the day and made sure that everything went smoothly. Food and drinks were first rate and DDH were very accommodating in relation to various allergies and dietary requirements too, which was greatly appreciated The location is perfect for weddings at Islington Town Hall and we thought they were very competitive on price too. We had a great time and have had lots of positive feedback from guests - wouldn't hesitate to recommend the venue. ozne151 visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 16 Sep 2017

I went to brunch with a friend and we loved the bottomless mimosas. The place is lovely and creative but unfortunately they are really understaffed during brunch times. The experience was great as you can see the staff are doing their best but there are just too many people around. My friends Chicken and Waffles were undercooked, the staff immediately brought her a new plate with fully cooked chicken which was great. My experience with Dead doll was superb! The staff were lovely, especially the coordinator Emily, who helped make my sister's bridal shower/ hen do an amazing experience. We communicated often about each detail of the event, she was great at getting back to me and also put a lot of effort to making sure the room was beautiful decorated. Additionally, the bar staff we had went above and beyond at our party. Unfortunately, I can't remember her name but she was amazing too. I would highly recommend! visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 19 Aug 2017

I thought best to write a review as we almost didn't go here because it has quite mixed reviews. We did the bottomless brunch for £20pp and it was definitely good value for money. Quick, polite contact via email with the restaurant whilst booking, friendly staff, cool decor inside. The offer meant you could pick one main and a side and one bottomless cocktail for £20. I saw past reviews saying the food was average - the food is actually really good. The chicken and waffles was amazing as well as the fish burger; I got two patties of fish in a bun when they could easily give me one. Mushy peas were terrible however but tartar sauce was good. Almost had a hiccup at the end when we started to be ignored when we were half an hour before our 2 hours were up, and our glasses were clearly empty. My friend went up to the bar as we had been waiting 10 mins and the waiter said 'I'll just check'...I'll just check what exactly..we then caught another waiter who gave us not one but two more bottles of mimosa and we were allowed to stay after our 2 hours, so he saved it! Would recommend! visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 16 Sep 2017

Friendly waiting on staff but the food was not good. Everything served was average at best. We were getting this meal for free because the last meal we had with you for my 30th was so poor. No one said anything bc it was free - but had I'd been paying I'd been pretty annoyed. Your burgers are not cheap at £14 and it was totally dry and the chips were bad - like cheap frozen ones. I love the venue but you need to sort the food because it's really not good. No one will come back for that. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 02 Sep 2017

We recently had our wedding reception at The Dead Dolls House and everything was perfect. The service we received was outstanding, Emily and the rest of the staff were amazing. We had lunch for 50+ people in the main bar during the day, all the food was great and the afternoon flowed perfectly. We then moved upstairs to the wonderful upstairs ballroom for our evening reception. The staff made everything easy and made all our guests feel welcome. Thank You So Much. We booked the library room and had a really nice time with lots of tasty drinks and the food was very nice too. There were some minor issues such as the room not being fully ready for the time we agreed on. Also some of the glasses were a bit mucky and one portion of food came much later than the rest. The table also collapsed at a point but luckily it didn't end with all our food and drinks on the floor!! Despite that, we had a great bartender and had a fun boozey brunch. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 03 Sep 2017

Overdone decor. Service was alright. The food was ok. My (tiny!) corn pancake was meh but my boyfriend's chicken and waffles kicked ass. The bottomless mimosas were incredibly not worth it. They come pre-made - tasted like there was barely any prosecco. Plus they bring a big jug which is not iced; after 15 minutes you're just drinking warm orange juice. omg just so freaking stupid. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 26 Aug 2017

It was pretty empty when we arrived at 1945, and it felt a little bit overly quiet. It got busier as the evening went on so the atmosphere definitely got better. The buttermilk chicken burger was spot on and the tequila cocktail was fantastic. Service was ok, nothing special though. So overall, thus could be a fantastic place, but just doesn't quite get there., visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 25 Aug 2017

We had our wedding lunch at the DDH on the 4th August 2017 & loved every minute of working with them. They were accommodating, friendly, professional & fun! The venue is really quirky & fresh, their food was really tasty & the staff were 'part of the celebrations'. Emily, who coordinate our event, was such a joy to work with. She was honest & offered practical, useful suggestions to make our day special. I would highly recommend the venue for special occasions! Lovely brunch at the Dead Dolls House. Staff were really friendly, although I think our order got lost and so we waited an hour to get our brunch - but this was noticed and we were given a bottle of prosecco so it was all good by us! Avocado on toast was good, and sweet potato fries on the side were excellent. Bloody marys could have been spicier, but again we asked for extra tabasco and that wasn't a problem. A nice venue, very glamorous mirrored tables. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 20 Aug 2017

While the food was great (the chicken burger was to die for). This didn't make up for the terrible service. We ordered cocktails straight away (obviously) and had to wait over 20 minutes for them - Not because the bar was busy, but because our waitress forgot about them (I could see them sat on the bar). Our food then took forever. When our starter finally arrived, the main courses followed too quickly and we had to send them back so we could finish our starter (we are not slow eaters!). When the main courses came back, one of them was incorrect. All in all a bit of a disaster really. Such a shame as the food was really good! visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 19 Aug 2017

Arrived for dinner and were seated, that's the good bit out of the way, after 15 mins of waiting for anyone to return one of party had to go to bar to get some drinks. The cocktails were lovely, we couldn't put them down - we'd have liked to but the tables were so wonky that until someone fashioned some cardboard wedges they were far from level or stable. When our food orders finally arrived they came as one, no such niceties as starters and mains overpack Tony wobbly tables makes meal more fun and threatening, this might just be to act as a distraction to the food. Toast might or might not have turned up, bottles of chianti ordered but fleurie arrives. Some food delicious some atrocious if eating stick to chicken based options, if a veggie seek solace elsewhere. Busy place but service could have been better. The bad boy wings were the standout dish but experience could have been so much better. Rob visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 12 Aug 2017

We hired the private dining room for a 'hen do' and had a fantastic night. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and the standard of the food was high. If i had to give one area for improvement it would be the quantity of food, great if you have big eaters as there was plenty but we had a lot leftover. That being said the staff had no worries wrapping leftovers for us to take away. I would highly recommend this place visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 05 Aug 2017

Tro choices of drinks available - mimosa or Bloody Mary, we had the mimosa and it was not good. Flat and all I could taste was cheap orange juice. Extremely disappointed.

When I arrived no one came over to tell us what we should be expecting or when our food was coming. After 30 mins I had to go to the bar to find out. They didn't have a clue. From the moment we walked in we were practically ignored by the staff. Had to go to the bar to order drinks. We were told the starter chicken wings would be 6-10 wings and we got 5. The burgers we had were all over-cooked and the fillings average. The cocktails were average, had much better. The whole place is looking very shabby, tired and a bit run-down. The website makes it seem like a much more polished establishment than it actually is. Wouldn't go back. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 20 Jun 2017

Not sure I've ever had such contrasting dishes !! The burger was so disappointing. Plenty of tasteless cheese, meat overcooked and no marrow butter. It so needed seasoning and a cheese with flavour. The wings on the other hand were absolutely amazing, some of the very best I've ever had !! Packed full of flavours, double cooked with an amazing crispy batter and the sauce was awesome. Only other comment would be that if your going to make your cocktails with cheap supermarket fruit juice (concentrate), don't do it in full view of the recipients. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 20 Jun 2017

The food was great! Probably the best chicken wings and burger I've had in a while! The only thing that had let the experience down was the club music that played during our dinner. There weren't that many people in the restaurant and it was just really noticeable. It just doesn't set the right mood while you are eating. I would suggest maybe more chilled out music during dinner service that's played in the background and then as the evening goes on maybe then turn the music up. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 17 Jun 2017

All in all a good experience at Dead Dolls House. I made reservations for 3 ppl for dinner on a Fri night via email and that process was seamless. When we arrived I found the security unnecessarily aggressive, demanding to know why we were there and where we were sitting. I told him I had made dinner reservations for 8:30 and I did not know where I was sitting. He didn't want to let us in until I could tell him where we were seated...I didn't know how that would be possible if we hadn't gone in yet? The drinks were great (cocktails) and for the most part the food was good. Everyone enjoyed the burgers but I found the grilled calamari very tasteless and wouldn't order it again. In general the service and vibe was good and I'd come back again. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 16 Jun 2017

We opted for the 'All Dayer' and I went for a DIY with delish avo on sourbread with side of bacon and sausage. The sausage was particularly good and you could tell it was of high quality. I had the Mimosas and my date had the Bloody Mary's but we soon swapped because the BM was one of the best I've had. The Dolls House is a fave for me on a night out, it's a load of fun although I have to admit in the light of day the venue is beginning to show a bit of wear and tear in the corners but with a lick of paint and some new upholstery the venue will continue to be one of the best places to come in East/North London :) Cara visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 31 Oct 2015

Really poor service. It wasn't overly busy when we arrived but it took 20 minutes to get our first drink and then a wait of 20 mins between the next one. A waitress came over, grabbed our plates and scurried off without even offering us another drink. Bottomless drinks for 2 hours but we only managed to get 3! Food quite good, service terrible. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 04 Jun 2017

Unfortunatley my experience at this venue wasnt the best. I had booked a brunch for me and my partner, thinking the bottomless option would be a great idea for a date. I was wrong. I dont think this was advertised as so, the mimosa I was looking forward was a whole carton of organge juice and a splash of prosecco. I do like a bit of orange juice from time to time but not a whole carton so this was unfortunate. The food was mediocre at best, it looked so promising on the menu but in reality it wasnt even avergage, luke warm, unseasoned and underwhelming for the price. Whe the staff did decide to stop polishing glasses come from around the bar it was never to check in on our table but just to clear our plates. Im all for being left to when you have a jug of drink in front of you but a little bit of attention never goes a miss, no one checked on our food, no one asked if we wanted anything else after. The venue its self wasnt at all what I had imagined, it was grubby and unkept. The attempt at artwork on the bar was half finished, it appeared as though no effort has been made to keep this lovely building looking fresh. Freezing cold due to the aircon being on full blast (It was a warm day but we left feeling frozen) Lastly, and this was something that really tipped it for me was the tables. These gorgeous gold brassy tables. Super shiny, had been cleaned which was great but obviously with some kind of brass cleaning product which hadnt been removed properly. I had spent my time here leaning over said table and said product whilst talking with my partner as she did with me. I leaned back toward the end to discover my brand new pastel colour top had these big black streaks over it where clearly the product hadnt been cleaned of the edges of the table. Im not one to moan about clothes being tarnished but had I been going out for the whole day I would have been really pissed off! Luckly I was off straight home so could bang my top in the wash. My partners jumper was also covered in this white chaly stuff which was obviously this undentifyable cleaning product. I dont like complaining, I never do it. I had mentioned to the waitress about the table and she apologised profusly. I just feel like you should know that this place is not what it cracked up be, and my standard are in no way high. I just had expected something alot better. Best, Simone visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 04 Jun 2017

Overall disappointing. We waited 45 minutes for food with no apology when it actually arrived. Food was nice but overpriced for portion sizes, particularly the avocado and toast (half a slice) and it was £4 to add one slice of bacon. We also weren't asked how our food was or even achknowledged when we left. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 04 Jun 2017

Good service and the bottomless mimosas were great and they were very attentive to refills. My friends had the salmon and pancake was was apparently tasty. I had the baked eggs which were a bit wet/watery. In the day you notice that the venue could do with a lick of paint/ a refirb as it does look quite shabby in the light!! Which made it seem less clean than it probably was. I'd only been in the evening before. Not sure I would go back even though we had a pleasant enough time. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 03 Jun 2017

Unfortunately we had a very poor experience at the dead dolls house last weekend. Here's a quick recap: Once arrived, we asked for freshly squeezed orange juice, but what we got instead was very cheap orange juice - we could tell it was not freshly squeezed, just by looking at it! So we gave it back. We actually saw cartons of orange juices at the bar - with the price label very big on it - 85P! No wonder the juice we got tasted that bad? (I had a sip to try it out) Definitely not a great start of your brunch! We then had to wait for over 35 minutes for our food - the place didn't look busy, so the wait for longer than expected. We were so hungry that we asked if it was possible for us to have some bread in the meantime - but that didn't happen. I actually enjoyed the food when it finally arrived, although I thought the portion was pretty small for a £15 full english breakfast? (called 'all dayer') The bread that came with it was tiny so we asked for more (on this occasion, they brought it to us very quickly I have to say). Also - my friend asked for some bacon on a separate plate, and it arrived with maple syrup - which was not written on the menu (as you would expect to see?) so again we had to bring it back. Few more details - salt and pepper was not on the table - again we had to ask for it. Lastly, my friend asked for a cup of tea. When it arrived, she realised that there was a stain of pink lipstick on the cup - very bad! At that point she brought it back and we asked for the bill. I have to say that when we left they apologized for the service that we have received - and we appreciated the gesture. Shame as also the place itself looks very pretty. However, for obvious reasons, we won't be coming back I am afraid. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 28 May 2017

My friends and I read a review on the dead dolls house and thought it looked great so went for brunch. Overall though we came out feeling rather dissatisfied with big the food and experience. The food was average and after complaining about the cold eggs once we couldn't be bothered to complain the second time when they came back cold. Thank god it wasn't very expensive but will not be going back. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 28 May 2017

Good value for money as we had Time Out vouchers and the food was OK but the service was really bad, we got ignored a lot and our order was completely wrong. Our waitress seemed like she must be on a trial shift or something as she was completely useless. The other staff were more helpful but only after we kept getting up from our table to ask them for things. The mimosas were mainly orange juice and were too sweet, despite us asking repeatedly for them to have less orange juice in. Overall I would not recommend this venue for brunch. Wasn't overly impressed with the dead dolls house for our bottomless brunch. We booked two months in advance for 5 people and got stuck at a very small table and they were unable to accommodate us elsewhere. Our chairs were also wet as they had been outside. The food was average and our bottomless mimosas initially started off as mainly orange juice! visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 21 May 2017

I went to bottomless brunch on Saturday and had a fantastic time! This was my first visit to the Dolls House and I will certainly be back. The food was great I had the chicken waffles and bloody mary's to wash it down - best I have had in a long time! Slightly over priced food for a menu that was a relatively typical brunch menu and nothing special in terms of quality in comparison to other restaurants in the area. There were also a high number of staff but they were not particularly attentive with side dishes not coming until the meal was almost finished and hard to catch anyone's attention without calling out to them. The drinks were good and reasonable for the bottomless pricing. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 20 May 2017

My food was really nice and the staff were really friendly. Three of us were having brunch but only two meals arrived, which meant two of us had finished our meals before our friend. When the final meal arrived (baked eggs &beans) it was very dry and had been sitting over a heat lamp for a while. The drinks were nice but we had to ask for extra proseco as our drink had no fizz to it. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 20 May 2017

Probably the worst brunch I've ever been to. The mimosas were massively watered down with the orange juice, even from the first serving. And, we were sat right by the bar so could see the ratios they were pouring, it was like 80:20! The food was delicious but the baked eggs were overcooked. The staff were polite at first but got a bit rude towards the end when we asked for more refills - got the feeling none of them really wanted to be there. Tis a shame because it is a local of mine and would have loved to come back in the evening one night, but after the service I got I won't be returning unfortunately. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 14 May 2017

As we were such a large group, we had been asked to pre-order our food. 20 minutes after arriving, we were asked if we would like to order, we told them we had pre-ordered. 10 minutes after that, we were asked again if we would like to order, to which we said the same thing and got 'Oh yes, you did tell me that' as a response, before walking off, no apology. Aside from this, the service was generally slow (10 minutes for a coffee) and the waitress was incredibly rude when telling us that they needed the table back 'in 10 minutes so can you go?' - without giving us an alternative to go to the bar to finish our drinks (until we asked). visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 06 May 2017

I made a dinner reservation for my birthday for Sunday 30th April however when I turned up at the restaurant I was horrified to discover it looked completely different to what's been advertised. It was totally run down and completely disorganised. We have to wait a few minutes to be seen to by someone who told us she couldn't find the booking on her system even though I had an email confirmation of it. She just apologised and told us she didn't have a table to offer us. To be honest upon seeing the place I couldn't wait to get out!!! Awful place.....avoid at all cost

I booked a bottomless brunch for my partners birthday and was more than disappointed with my visit to the Dead Dolls House. We were ignored as soon as we arrived and found our table with my name on it ourselves. The table was right by the main door which resulted in a practically freezing copper table. When asking to move we were told it was fully booked and it would not be possible, only to ask another waiter who agreed it would be perfectly fine. I specifically picked this restaurant for the menu as my partner does not like typical brunch options. He ordered the buttermilk chicken with waffles but was told abruptly they had ran out. Shortly after our food arrived the table sat next to us received the buttermilk chicken and waffles! The mimomas also had little fizz (minimal prosecco) and the portion sizes were a little pitiful. I was genuinely looking forward to visiting the Dead Dolls House but will definitely not be returning. The bathrooms also had toilet seats hanging off and was very unclean! visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 30 Apr 2017

I book the bottomless brunch for 17 people for my 30th. And was really disappointed, the venue set up the table only for 16 and one of my friends had to squeeze on. They had run out of chicken so most of my friends couldn't order what they wanted. The bottomless mimosas was basically two little jugs of what tasted like orange juice with a splash of something fizzy on the table to share between us all which we had to keep asking them to refill. We asked if they could provide more jugs to be told that they had run out so we ended up telling them to take our water jugs but then still only got three jugs (barely one glass each). I also asked if they could put less orange juice in the mimosas but was told they were not allowed. I ended up ordering two bottles of prosecco so my friends could top up their orange juice. We all pretty much order a burger due to no chicken which was really over cooked and way too salty. My friend asked for butter 3 times to butter her side of bread and it never arrived. When the bill come they had not taken of my deposit so I had to ask them. They had added a £70 service charge on the bill which we didn't pay as the service we received was shocking. Definitely would not recommend going there especially with a large group! visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 30 Apr 2017
