What they say:

Home is a new fine-dining restaurant that's opening in the heart of Leeds this August. The brainchild of chefs Elizabeth Cottam (seen on Masterchef) and Mark Owens, the restaurant looks to showcase the British flavours we all know and love in new contemporary ways, all in a calm, friendly environment. All the dishes will be arranged in seven and ten-course tasting menus that change on a monthly basis to reflect the seasonal produce on offer. Expect to find the likes of smoked venison tartare, served with carrots and liquorice, and Scottish salmon on a bed of cucumber, lemon and dill at this fresh new spot.

What we say:

Fine-dining restaurants are usually stuffy by default. It's easy for venues to slip into that trap of expecting its guests to match the sleek, highbrow nature of the dishes it creates. But like a breath of fresh air, we have a feeling Home is purposely trying to avoid that lounge-suits-and-Louboutine vibe. The food will, of course, meet the high standards that both chefs are known for. The challenge for the team here will be first to strike the right balance between experimenting and tradition, and second to hold onto that 'come on in, give us a hug' welcoming atmosphere. Whatever happens, we can't wait to try Home out for ourselves.
