Do you know how lucky you are? You have one of the dance music world's bucketlist clubs on your very door step, so make sure you check it out while you're at uni in Glasgow. Sub Club offers some of the finest house and techno tunes you'll ever hear, with some sensational mid-week club nights. Head to Sub Rose every Wednesday for a discerning dance fest for students.
Ditch the library, and make your way to the Hillhead Bookclub for some fun times in fabulous surroundings. Love it or hate it, you will end up in The Garage some time before you graduate, so you may as well bite the bullet at ticket it off your bar bucketlist. This fun Sauchiehall Street club is a haven of all things undergrad, wild parties, cheap drinks and fun time tunes. This is the quintessential Glasgow student club, so lap it up while you can.
A Tokyo hipster hangout right in the West End of Glasgow, Bar Soba is the epitome of cool with graffiti and Asian street art, butcher block benches, and black paintwork. The vast menu boasts authentic pan-Asian cuisine like curries, noodles, sushi and salads and with student deals five days a week, this is the perfect place for undergrads who are feeling a bit peckish.
Bamboo is a raging, raucous nightclub in Glasgow, and a must visit for every student in the city, at least once. Cheap drinks and cheaper entry guarantee some budget banter while regular parties and special guest DJs keep things interesting. Expect a fun playlist, and a wild night out in Glasgow.
Flat o/1 is like your college flat, except it has a bar and you don't need to do the cleaning after a party. The ultimate party pad on campus, this Bath Street bar churns out some awesome nights out. Catch monthly night Milk, or the weekly club, Camden Nights for the alternative way to party hearty student style.
Vodka Wodka is a small, intimate bar that claims to be one of Glasgow's "first cocktail bars." Situated on Ashton Lane in the West End, this is a super-cool hangout whose cocktail deals and extensive list of vodkas and rums from around the world make it perfect for students. There's also a beer garden out back for when the summer months finally arrive!
Cheap drinks and Mexican food; has there ever been a better mix? Sauchiehall Street's Driftwood is renound for its unbelievably reasonable tipples and delicious food and with its prime location in the City Centre its undoubtedly the perfect place for students to head before they hit the club. Fun, friendly and lively, this no-frills bar and restaurant will set you up for the night ahead.
Viper is the ultimate West End student club offering a cool undergrad crowd a fun night out on the cheap. With some raging parties, top chooons and cheap drinks, this student staple is a definite must-try on your tour of undergrad Glasgow.
King Tut's is one of the best places to spot the best emerging music talent from Glasgow and further afield. With just a 300 capacity venue, every gig is intimate and the crowd is always enthusiastic. An experience to be had by every student in the city, Tut's has a later licence than most live venues so you'll no-doubt be dancing into the wee hours!
If you haven't heard of the O2 ABC's Thursday night party Jellybaby, where have you been? The Sauchiehall Street venue puts on a massive, raucous party that's an essential for any student in the city. If that's not your thing, they put on a cooler, indie night on a Friday too. Doubling up as a gig venue, the ABC is big enough to hold even the wildest of parties.
Campus is Glasgow's very own frat house. This Sauchiehall Street bar is all kinds of fun, open 'til late seven nights a week, there's always something going on. From cheap half yard cocktails, to a big screen showing sports, quizzes, giveaways and live performances, oh and some of the cheapest eats in town, if you want the quintessential college experience, Campus is the place to start.
The Ark is a cool chilled out student pub just minutes away from the University of Strathclyde. Knockdown bites make this a cheap place to dine, while the big (big!) screen shows live sports throughout the week. Add in an epic suntrap of a beer garden and you have yourself a sunny day go-to for students. Definitely one to tick off when the sun comes out.
