Claiming the title of Glasgow's oldest bar and restaurant, Sloans is a great, multi-purpose venue on Argyle Street. From its snug bar to its grand ballroom, this Central Glasgow bar is flooded with character. Nestled down a lane off Buchanan Street, Sloans is inviting from the outset, with old stone whitewashed walls and tables spilling out onto the street. Inside, three floors are lovingly maintained with antique features befitting the 200 year-old bar, old wooden pub decor in the snug bar, vintage light fittings in the restaurant and to parquet flooring in the ballroom.
With a long history of hosting celebrations, Sloans cater for everything from birthday parties to weddings, but be sure to make it down on a Friday night - the weekly ceilidh is legendary, music sessions, pub quizzes and movie nights all fill out the schedule at this bustling Glasgow bar. The crowd here are a lively bunch, looking for a comfortable, friendly place, to meet friends.
