From the creator of ‘Mohan: A Partition Story’ comes a new piece from the critically acclaimed Niall Moorjani.
The year is 1857 and strapped to a cannon a young Indian rebel finds themselves answering to a British officer for the crimes of Kanpur. Are they are a hero or a villain? It doesn’t really matter. What is going happen has already happened, and whatever happens, it’s going to be explosive.
Colonialism and the right to resistance is considered in this
historical, lyrical, funny and thought provoking piece, which
with blended storytelling, music, and theatre, makes the past
feel pertinently present.
This is a work in progress performance scripts may be in hand at
certain moments of the show.
CW: The piece contains direct reference to moments of potentially
upsetting and distressing historical violence and racism.
7:30 start sharp, doors at 7:15, run time 60-75 minutes work in
progress means we aren't 100% sure how long it will be on any given
day
10% of all proceeds will go to Medical Aid For Palestinians on
behalf of Lighthouse and the show
