Description

Situated in the heart of Bristol's historic Old Market, The Punchbowl is a vibrant pub with its own colourful history. While it is an old building, The Punchbowl has benefited from a tasteful, recent refurbishment. It manages to be lively and atmospheric but also comfortable and intimate.

On display you will find a selection of local ales which are rotated frequently, and also a wide selection of fine wines and spirits suitable for any occasion.

Through the bar and out the back, there is a spacious garden which is the perfect place to soak up the sun after work with friends, or a long evening over the weekend. For the more traditional British weather, there is also a large covered area complete with heaters to keep you warm.

The Sunday roasts are quickly becoming a staple of Bristol's ever-growing food scene. For the rest of the week though, you won't be disappointed, The Punchbowl offers a great value lunch deal and also a great deal on prosecco cocktails on Friday nights.

All food is cooked fresh on site to order, only using the finest, local ingredients.

This venue serves British and Roast Dinner food.

  • A word from the chef:

Food is important to us here at the Punch Bowl and we pride ourselves on using specially selected local and regional suppliers from around the South West. Upon entering our pub, you might notice the smell of freshly baked bread as Chef Martino, creates the pub menu from scratch every day. Our ‘famous’ Sunday Roasts include two cuts of beef, slow roasted Topside and pulled Brisket, roast chicken or roast pork, all served with home-made Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, a homemade jus and seasonal vegetables. We are pleased to offer a Vegetarian and Vegan roast dinner too, but be sure to reserve a table, as we do get booked out months in advance. Local suppliers we use across the Wickwar Pub Co estate include; A David fresh fruit & vegetables, Wings of St Mawes & Kingfisher of Brixham fresh fish, Charles Saunders and Bristol Twenty Coffee.
