Politicians, celebs and media darlings have been schmoozing over shepherd’s pie and other comfort-food classics at the original Ivy in London’s Covent Garden for over a century. Recently, under the banner of ‘The Ivy Collection’, they’ve copied and pasted their formula for success to a number…
The Ivy in The Lanes
London stalwart The Ivy has opened a Brighton outpost in The Lanes. The Ivy in The Lanes follows the same formula as its sister restaurants, with decadent dishes fused with Asian flavours.
The new space has room for 240 diners along with a private dining room for 20, while design features include an onyx bar, artwork from local artists and marble floor tiles. Open seven days a week, the restaurant serves from breakfast to dinner with stand-out dishes such as brioche crumbed chicken Milanese with rocket, and eggs Benedict.
The original Ivy opened in 1917 in Covent Garden, and has been a celeb hot spot for more than 100 years. As well as dishes such as tuna sashimi, foie gras and seared tiger prawns, the venue is also known for their cocktail list which touts a selection of classics and a few more modern offerings.
