Hailed as something of a Brighton institution, the Fortune of War is not only one of the city's only beachfront pubs, it's one of the oldest there too.
We doubt you'll find a pub in Brighton that looks anything like the Fortune of War, in fact, we know you wont. After first opening in 1882, Fortune of War has invited its punters in for a taste of their worn interiors and traditional, if not so traditional style. From its second for floor seating areas and main bar to a plot of seaside seats outside, Fortune of War is doused in Beach themed thoroughfare; Boasting a bar made from boats, peculiarly angled ceilings, rope hung barriers and nods to the seaside surfing community.
Whilst DJ nights, indie hits and pub playlists are to be found in entertaining abundance, there's one thing not to miss at the Fortune of War, and that's their seafront seating area. The cream of the crop when it comes to drinking by the beach in Brighton, Fortune of War's beachfront plot is heaving once the sunshine shows its face and punters come for a cold tipple or five.

A word from the chef:
Whilst the menu may be petite, at only £6 per pizza, Fortune of War are rockin' just the right accompaniment to a great selection of beer; be you a fan of a margharita or classic pepperoni.
