How often do we have to remind ourselves to keep breathing, or pay attention to being alive? On average, the human attention span lasts 8 seconds, we sometimes forget that our bodies will just keep living for us - almost without us. Knotting together ambitious movement, circus, sound and film, Epicene is an open, playful exploration of how we pay attention to our bodies.

Epicene is the result of a two-week research and development project between new theatre company LYNNEBEC and Oxford-based sound artist Harriet Butler. It's in its very early stages, so please come along and tell us what you think!

Supported in development by the Old Joint Stock Theatre's 'Open Doors' programme.

About LYNNEBEC:
We're interested in humans. We make work for humans, by humans which is sometimes about humans. We make work that reminds us and our audience of objects, sounds, sensations or experiences we forget to pay attention to. We make work that is light-hearted, sometimes silly and more often that not, sincere. We enjoy making work that can squeeze in your living room or transport to the likes of a gallery or disused warehouse.
