As winter beckons and the nights are drawing in, we've been plotting a killer line up to warm your cockles for our sixteenth event. Three Birmingham bands all performing for the first time at Kaleidoscope - you are in for a treat. As always, we'll have an arts fair hosting some of Brum's finest creatives, and our DJs will be spinning the vinyl grooves all evening under the liquid lights.

// The Cosmics //
Birmingham residents will require no introduction to our headline act, The Cosmics. Citing influences as varied as Thee Oh Sees, Blondie and The Stooges, the fuzzy garage-punk trio have been making waves all over the UK for a while now with their raucous and energetic live shows, including appearances at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Reading, Truck and Y Not Festivals. Their debut self-titled album came out in June - it's absolutely 100% all killer, and we're delighted to finally be able to welcome them to the Kaleidoscope stage.
// Mutes //
Another stalwart of the Birmingham music scene, Mutes create a unique sound by combining punk, krautrock and grunge - and deliver it to the crowd with ferocious intensity. The three-pieces' second album 'Pareidolia' came out in June on local label FOMA, and is 45 minutes of pure unadulterated post-punk goodness.
// Exhailers //
Exhailers is a three-headed apeoid gestating in the cosmic womb; an art-rock experiment from the Midlands of nowhere; a spangled conglomerate of puss and goo dancing through the Void. It exudes glistening melodies, lurching riffs and laments to being lost in space. Latest EP Abyssal Orbit was released back in July to great acclaim, and we can't wait to see them blow the roof off The Night Owl at their first Kaleidoscope.
