The Night Owl Presents
Brain Food EP launch party
Doors 8:30pm
Brain Food are a four piece cosmic psych outfit from Birmingham.
The band is comprised of Liam McKeown (guitar and vocals) Jakob Edge (guitar & keys), William Scarrott (bass) and Connor Doyle (drums). Forming in 2017, the band have been making waves with their energetic, spaced out and shimmering live set. They've supported the likes of Boy Azooga, Frankie and the Witch Fingers, Insecure Men, Froth and more.
"It's a crawling, slip sliding psych ride through bends of gooey riffs that creep around corners, shape shifting through changing tempos, narrating a controlling a cosmic trip through the very core of your being." - Counteract
With support from Cave Girl
With a twist of the hip and kick of the flares, Cave Girl took those 80s inflections and ran away with them at full speed. Frontman Ed Quigley emphasised the 80s/Bowie glam that seeped through each heavy bass line and western twangs, whilst their debut single oozed psychedelic sophistication. All before quaking into a cosmic catapult of a glam and rock & roll eruption with high kicks, guitar tricks and more (which is the least you should expect from a frontman who's also a magician).
and Exhaler
'A strange but incredibly brilliant mash up of Indie, Stoner, Punk, Psych and Noise.'
