Komedia Bath

With its city centre location, stunning interior and live performance capabilities, Komedia Bath is a great choice for big birthday celebrations, as well as awards ceremonies, press events or corporate functions and team-building away days. 

We have The Electric Bar – which makes a great reception space or breakout room as well as an intimate event space in and of itself  – as well as our stunning Main Auditorium. There’s also a Balcony available if you need it. 

For private evening hire, we offer bespoke packages starting at £250 for The Electric Bar space only or £500 for the Main Auditorium/entire venue. 

For a half day of private hire in just The Electric Bar space, prices start at £150. For a half day of private hire in the Main Auditorium/entire venue, prices start at £300.

In the Main Auditorium, we can provide cabaret-style seating (tables and chairs) for up to 200 people, or rowed theatre style seats for 300. The Balcony has an additional 165 rowed seats. 

Use of our P.A, lighting, microphones and projector is included as standard, as well as a member of technical staff to operate it all. If you’re thinking even bigger than this, we can look into hiring extra equipment as well as providing additional personnel. Please note, this will incur additional costs. 

We can also provide in-house catering – from teas and coffees upwards – or you’re welcome to bring in a caterer of your choice. This can all be discussed during the planning of your event. 

We have multiple bars on site, a small backstage facility and your guests will no doubt enjoy making use of the Komedia Bath photo booth. 

The Main Auditorium is the heart of Komedia Bath. Over the years, its stage has played host to everyone from Russell Howard, Joe Lycett and Katherine Ryan to The Buzzcocks, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas and Newton Faulkner, as well as many of Bath’s own up-and-coming comedic and musical talents. 

Unlike many mid-scale venues, Komedia Bath is visually and acoustically stunning, thanks to its original Edwardian vaulted ceiling, so it makes for a great location if you’re planning on recording/filming your event. 

For standing gigs or club nights, the Main Auditorium holds up to 615 people. 

For events with rowed seating, the Main Auditorium holds up to 316 people. 

For events with Cabaret style seating (tables and chairs), the Main Auditorium holds up to 200 people. 

A 165-seater Balcony is also available as required, but cannot be used during club nights for safety reasons. 

A small backstage facility is available and we can provide further dressing rooms and a chill space at our nearby flat on request. 

Hire costs start at £850 for a standard evening event, and you’ll have a Technician, Duty Manager and members of Box Office and Bar staff on hand to help make sure everything runs smoothly. Depending on your needs, we can provide additional staff and extra equipment, but please bear in mind that this will incur additional costs. 

The Electric Bar is like a miniature venue within Komedia Bath. Fully kitted out with a stage, an excellent PA system, lights and – perhaps most importantly – a bar, it can hold up to 100 people (standing), so it’s great for small-to-medium sized gigs or local band showcases. 

For seated events, The Electric Bar can hold 60 people and is ideal for spoken word nights, grassroots stand-up and work-in-progress tour shows – or just a more intimate setting for live music. 

Hire costs start at £200 for a standard evening event, and you’ll have a Technician, Duty Manager and Box Office staff member on hand to help make sure everything runs smoothly.
