Thank you Jan, so glad you enjoyed your meal! The Easter Egg hunt went down a treat starting at reception, they loved it! Hopefully see you again soon!Trafalgar Night 2026
An evening of fine dining and naval tradition — a five-course
dinner, live music and a toast to the 'immortal memory'. Every
booking supports Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Merchant Navy
charities.
The Battle of Trafalgar was a naval engagement that took place on
21st October 1805 between the British Royal Navy and the combined
fleets of the French and Spanish Navies during the War of the Third
Coalition of the Napoleonic Wars.
On 21 October 1805, off Cape Trafalgar, the Royal Navy won its most
famous victory — at the cost of Vice-Admiral Lord Nelson. Each
October, in a city that has always belonged to the sea and the
Royal Navy, we gather to raise a glass to Nelson and all who fell
alongside him.
Join us at the Royal Maritime Hotel on Friday 16 October 2026 for Trafalgar Night: a five-course dinner by Head Chef Peter Ashby, served with wine and port, live music through the evening, and a traditional toast to the 'immortal memory'.
It's a wonderful evening of good food, fine company and naval heritage in the heart of Portsmouth's historic dockyard quarter — and every booking supports serving and veteran members of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Merchant Navy. Accommodation is available for overnight stays; please just ask when you book.
