For the amateur hop and beer enthusiast or the brewing connoisseur, this experience gives the customer a chance to take part in a tour around our historic Kent Hop farm.

Tours take place between May and September every year.

May - Hops are around 3-4 foot high at the start of May
June - By the end of June the hops will be at the top of the wire
July - By mid-late July, the first hop cones will be out
August - Hop cones continue to bloom and the garden is almost ready to harvest
September - the Harvest is underway and takes around 3 weeks until all the hops are processed.

  • Kent is rich in hop growing and brewing history. Visit the stunning Hukins Hops estate and see how a modern hop farm combines with craft beer to give you an experience to remember.

    Step into the 18 foot high hop gardens and learn how hops are grown today to meet the dynamic craft beer market.

    We’ll visit the hops picking and processing facility to see how great British engineering combine with modern technology to pick 320,000 hop plants in just 30 days of harvest!

    Feel free to grab a beer in the brewery taproom after the tour, with food also available to purchase.

    Children are welcome to attend the tour free with a paying adult.

    What an excellent afternoon! Chris our guide was brilliant, giving an informative and enjoyable history of the farm and hop picking. Finished with some beer tasting and then up to the new McCann Brewery for a pint. And the sun was shining!

    Amazing experience - so knowledgeable our tour guide Chris and really made it special for my Nan who had picked hops in her youth. A great little place and would 100% recommend.
