HOLM

Description

Nestled in the village of South Petherton, HOLM is a modern British restaurant that brings a refined yet relaxed dining experience to the Somerset countryside. Housed in a beautifully converted former bank, the space blends rustic charm with contemporary design - think exposed brick, soft plaster walls, and an open kitchen that invites diners into the heart of the action.

HOLM is the fourth venture from the team behind London favourites Salon, Levan, and Larry’s, and it carries the same commitment to seasonal, ingredient-led cooking. Head Chef and co-founder Nicholas Balfe leads the kitchen, crafting menus that reflect the rhythms of the surrounding countryside. The food is elegant but unfussy, with standout dishes like Westcombe Cheddar ‘fries’ with pickled walnut, ricotta agnolotti in smoked butter with chanterelles, and Alford Farm pork belly with red cabbage and black pudding.

Guests can choose from an à la carte menu, a well-curated Chef’s Tasting Menu, or a set lunch offering. Sunday roasts are a highlight, and there are always vegetarian and vegan options available. The drinks list leans toward low-intervention wines and local producers, with a short but sharp cocktail selection - don’t miss the house Negroni.

HOLM is a destination restaurant that feels both special and grounded. It also offers tastefully refurbished rooms upstairs, making it ideal for a countryside escape with exceptional food at its core.
