Really friendly and helpful staff and excellent food with good portions. Missed out on the fifth star because I had to flag a waiter down several times to get service but other than that we were well looked after on a very busy day. Will be going back again. Thank you! Service was good and pub/restaurant is a very nice setting. However the food was disappointing. Fish & chips could be so much better. Barely any chips as looked like I got the bottom of the chip pan, batter was soggy on fish and the peas were inedible. Kids sausage meals were ok as ordered chips for kids instead of mashed potato not realising they were going to pour gravy all over chips which didn’t go down well. Also ordered kids meatballs and there was huge chunks of slightly undercooked onion again did not go down well. I know I should have said something to the server but we had a short amount of time and children had limited patience Needless to say will probably not eat there again as a family. I had the pie which was really nice. However the mashed potato was a very small mean smear. I would go back and ask for more mash. Visited The Spring Grove on 2018-01-27

I held a lunchtime buffet get together after a funeral today. Not on the face of it happy circumstances but we enjoyed ourselves. The pub was a genuine community local with a good tabled area for such an event and the staff were very welcoming and helpful in meeting our wishes. The food was good or very good, especially popular were the scampi tails, quiche and salmon and cream cheese bagels. Also the event was good value for money. The only downside is beyond the venue's control- the shortage of visitor daytime parking adjacent to the pub before 6.30 pm. However after a little exploration all my party managed to park well within 5 minutes' walk. Visited The Spring Grove on 2018-01-18

Lovely atmosphere, perfect spot for any occasion with the variety of break out areas and rooms they have. Rarebit starter was delicious and couldn't fault the Steak as a main. Will return. Visited The Spring Grove on 2018-01-12

Staff very nice and try to be helpful and attentive. However........ On Jan 1st, there was very little choice on the menu, they had run out of a lot of food. No ketchup either! We chose burgers which were nice. Visited The Spring Grove on 2018-01-01

Hi there, Thank you for leaving us feedback on your visit to the Spring Grove, your opinion is so important to us. I'm glad our staff were attentive to you and your party. New years Eve was one of our busiest days in the pubs history which was great but also meant that the following day we were low on stock and were unable to order more during this particular holiday period. I hope you can appreciate this and how unusual this particular occurrence was. We hope to see you again very soon, Best wishes, Beth and the rest of the Spring Grove team.

Terrible service. Understaffed venue. Reduced menu of 6 main courses had 4 of them sold out so my table of 5 all had to order 1 of 2 things. When food arrived it had just been slopped on the plate, burger and chips with no garnish whatsoever. No offer of sauces. Plates weren't cleared for over an hour when we were presented with our bill and asked to leave our table to make room for a dance floor. We had perhaps expected an offer of deserts, but maybe that's asking too much in a restaurant. I've lived in Kingston all my life, and last night was literally the worst experience I've ever had here. I have relished in telling all my friends, all of which at regulars to the Spring Grove. Also, if a night is advertised as a 70's night, then you'd usually expect the musicians to play 70's music - which they didn't. Visited The Spring Grove on 2017-12-31

A pleasant meal, but the service when we arrived was not up to scratch. We waited for someone to greet and seat us but staff just kept walking past us, so I had to seek someone out myself. The young girl who looked after us at the beginning was in another world, I had to ask for menus!!!! The service improved around our main course, to the point that we had three people ask if our meal was okay, so either not enough or two much service. The food was nice, and it’s a lovely pub but not sure if we’lol be back or will recommend to anyone. Visited The Spring Grove on 2017-12-24

Some of the meal was disappointing, notably the crumble and the cheese. Don't approve of 12.5% service charge automatically added to the bill. Appreciate it's optional to pay but equally it should not be put on in the first place. It's the customer's prerogative to decide on the service given. Visited The Spring Grove on 2017-12-11

I was really looking forward to lunch at The Spring Grove as I’ve heard nothing but good reviews but unfortunately it didn’t live up to its expectations. My sister, brother in law and little nephew came to stay with us for the weekend so we thought this would be a good time to try The Spring Grove as they’ve introduced the ‘kids table’. Although the staff were lovely the service was poor. We had only been given the menu a couple of minutes and they were back for our order. There was a long wait between our starter and our main course and I had to ask for extra gravy three times before I got it. We go for a roast nearly every Sunday and although it was ok it was far from the best. Now I’m the number one fan of the Yorkshire pudding so when I saw it came with a giant Yorkie I was excited, but it was a disappointment. The roast comes inside it, so it’s difficult to cut and move the food around the plate. The gravy was too runny and there wasn’t much of it as the giant Yorkshire soaked it all up. The vegatables and potatoes were very tasty. The pudding choice was slim and they had sold out of rolly polly, considering we were one of the first tables in this was pretty poor. A child’s roast dinner was £8 which I think is incredibly expensive to feed a 3 year old. All in all at just under £40 a head for 2 courses and drink is way too much for Sunday lunch. We’ve eaten at some lovely places in Surbiton for much less and it’s tasted much nicer. The kids table is s great touch though. Visited The Spring Grove on 2017-11-05

I had a great birthday lunch here at the weekend. Service was amazing and food was great as always. I really like the staff in here and the atmosphere is always great. My only negative was that although i had pre-booked a table, i felt they were not prepared when we arrived and we had to wait a while whilst they hashed together a table, It was extremely busy and they were full to the brim. But that is really no big deal. They still treated us well and were more than courteous.Love this place. Visited The Spring Grove on 2017-11-05
