The 15th-Century Vault at Dornoch Castle Steeped in centuries of history, the original 15th-century stone vault at Dornoch Castle—once utilized as a historic jail cell and wine cellar—has been transformed into an extraordinary private dining space. Enclosed by ancient stonework and illuminated by ambient lighting, this secluded haven offers a dramatic, cozy backdrop for intimate gatherings and special celebrations. Designed exclusively for private parties of 6 to 12 guests, the Vault hosts a dedicated sharing-style feast (£85 per person) showcasing fine Scottish ingredients. The experience begins with a rested Dornoch Negroni cocktail accompanied by Gordal olives and warm salted nuts, leading into a grand social platter featuring baked Morangie Brie, courgette fries, whipped feta, freshly baked focaccia, and Thompson Brothers gin-cured salmon. For the main course, guests share family-style platters of sirloin of Scottish beef or venison loin served alongside rich red wine jus, roasted garlic and herb new potatoes, maple-glazed carrots, and truffle sweet potato puree. The evening concludes with a warm sticky toffee pudding with miso butterscotch sauce, followed by fresh tea, coffee, Bare Bones chocolate, and local Thompson Bros whisky tablet. Key Details
