The Barber Shop

Description

Harking back to the days of secret speakeasy bars down narrow staircases and behind fake bookcases, The Barber Shop promises to delight and surprise.

Specialising in trims by day and tipples by night, this York Street spot should be on your weekend radar. While appearing to be a traditional barbershop from the outside, upstairs this place hides a slinky cocktail bar, complete with flickering tealights, a gorgeous outdoor terrace and quirky artwork. The team here are mixology experts and are more than happy to create bespoke sips, suited to your mood and tastes.

And if you're not sure where to start? We suggest you dive headfirst into one of the 80 varieties of gin on offer, imported from all over the world. The menu even includes gin flights, giving indecisive patrons the chance to sample four rare spirits in one go. For those steering clear of the G&T selection, there's also an excellent selection of Aussie beers and wine, with a one-page menu of gourmet bar snacks and charcuterie to soak it all up.
