Description

The historic Malt Cross pub is one of the last remaining Victorian music halls in Britain. Dating way back to 1877, this Grade II listed venue underwent a £1.4m renovation back in 2014, opening two previously derelict floors and becoming one of the most prestigious locations for heritage, music and art in the Midlands in the process.

Offering something different to your usual trip to the pub, The Malt Cross plays host to regular art classes, workshops and live music events. Guests can also embark on guided tours of the music halls and sandstone caves to get a feel for the vibrant heritage on offer at this prestigious 19th century site.

Once you’re all done soaking in the historic culture of this place, you can reflect with a drink in the cafe bar, which serves a good variety of hot and cold drinks. It’s worth stopping in to check out the list of beers; there’s bottles from all over the continent as well as a handy selection of real ales that frequently rotate. The Malt Cross is also good for a bite to eat, serving breakfast as well as burgers, fish & chips and roast dinners come Sunday.
