Description
Named after dabbawalas, the bicycle-riding delivery drivers of Mumbai, Dabbawal is a restaurant on High Bridge in the city centre that specialises in street food-inspired Indian cuisine - with a second venue in Jesmond. This is a cosy space with a relaxed atmosphere, boasting a talented team of chefs who have been trained in traditional cooking techniques.
Their mission is to serve home-style, authentic Indian dishes using nourishing ingredients. Highlights of the menu include paneer kofta in a creamy tomato sauce, Punjabi chicken tikka and Bombay potatoes, and they even offer a two-course pre-theatre menu for just £16 per person.
