Description
Double Chicken Please, located on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, is a design-forward cocktail bar that has redefined the boundaries of mixology and culinary creativity. The venue features two distinct spaces: The Coop, a moody, mid-century-inspired cocktail lounge, and Free Range, a brighter, more casual front bar. Both areas are meticulously designed with industrial-chic touches, warm wood accents, and ambient lighting that reflect the bar’s ethos of “design hacking” - a concept that deconstructs traditional dishes and reimagines them as cocktails.
Founded by GN Chan and Faye Chen, Double Chicken Please began as a mobile pop-up in a vintage VW minibus before opening its brick-and-mortar location in 2020. The bar has since earned global acclaim, ranking No. 2 on The World’s 50 Best Bars list in 2023 and winning the Disaronno Highest New Entry award in 2022.
The food menu, led by Chef Mark Chou (formerly of Eleven Madison Park and Le Bernardin), features Taiwanese-inspired fried chicken sandwiches and inventive small plates that complement the cocktail programme. With its blend of art, design, and hospitality, Double Chicken Please stands as one of New York’s most innovative and celebrated drinking destinations.
