Please Don't Tell

Description

Please Don’t Tell (PDT) is a legendary speakeasy-style cocktail bar tucked behind a vintage phone booth inside Crif Dogs, a hot dog shop in New York City's East Village. The entrance itself is part of the experience - guests step into the phone booth, dial a number, and are ushered into a dimly lit, intimate space adorned with leather booths, taxidermy decor, and a small bar that seats only a handful of patrons. The ambiance is cosy and secretive, evoking the glamour and mystery of Prohibition-era nightlife.

Founded in 2007 by Jim Meehan, Brian Shebairo, and Chris Antista, PDT quickly became a pioneer of the modern speakeasy movement. Under the stewardship of celebrated bartender Jeff Bell, the bar has earned numerous accolades, including the James Beard Award for Outstanding Bar Program in 2012.

Bell himself was named Bartender of the Year in Diageo’s World Class competition and Best American Bartender at Tales of the Cocktail. PDT’s menu features expertly crafted cocktails alongside gourmet bar snacks like tater tots and inventive hot dog collaborations, making it a must-visit for cocktail connoisseurs and curious newcomers alike.
