Description
Paradise Lost in New York City is a wildly imaginative cocktail bar located in the East Village, known for its audacious “tropical hellscape” aesthetic. The interior is a maximalist dream: snakeskin banquettes, oversized bat taxidermy, white fur-covered doors, and an eight-foot altar set the stage for a theatrical experience. A giant LED canvas streams animated visuals across the space, while interactive lighting responds to cocktail service, turning each drink into a performance. The vibe is tiki-meets-gothic, with a surf punk soundtrack that adds to the venue’s rebellious energy.
Founded by Kavé Pourzanjani, Phillip Kirschen-Clark, and Raymond Sakover - veterans of NYC’s top hospitality spots - Paradise Lost has earned a place on the World’s 50 Best Discovery list for its bold concept and execution. The cocktail programme reimagines tiki classics with flair, featuring drinks like the Saturn (gin, passionfruit, orgeat, Falernum, and dry ice theatrics) served in custom demon-themed mugs.
The globally inspired food menu includes Caribbean ceviche, Japanese kakigori, and tiki popcorn, all designed to complement the immersive experience. With its blend of high-concept design, irreverent luxury, and culinary creativity, Paradise Lost is one of New York’s most original and coveted nightlife destinations.
