This Friday sees the launch of Kosmonaut’s newest exhibition, The Orion Constellation,
The intricate work, created by Manchester student Aalina Stanciu, is the bar’s first installation. It represents the moments captured every time someone comes in to a bar and a story is created. Whether it is a man on his own, a couple falling in love, two strangers meeting or a group of close friends, sharing their stories. Like a dream catcher above a bed, the installation symbolically catches stories from above the bar booths.
The installation comprises of black cord mounted on the walls and ceiling, in an intricate interwoven arrangement. It was custom-designed for Kosmonaut, revolving around a cosmic motif, interpreted in a geometric manner.
The artwork stretches out from the bar area and culminates on the opposite side of the room, with a schematic representation of the Orion Constellation.
Resident DJ Past Paul will be spinning the tunes and there will be drinks offers available on a first come first served basis, so get down early!
The exhibition runs until Wednesday 4th December.
