Sticks’n’Sushi Manchester marks a confident new chapter in the city’s ever-evolving dining landscape, bringing the Copenhagen-born restaurant group to Spinningfields for the very first time. Renowned for its seamless fusion of Japanese culinary craftsmanship and contemporary Scandinavian design, the restaurant introduces its signature mix of refined sushi and flame-grilled sticks to one of Manchester’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.

Founded in Copenhagen in 1994, Sticks’n’Sushi is built around a relaxed, sharing-led approach to dining, underpinned by Omotenashi - the Japanese philosophy of wholehearted hospitality. This ethos runs through every detail, from the carefully conceived menus to the warm, welcoming energy of the dining room.

The menu showcases the dishes that have defined the brand, presented in a striking, photo-led format. Small plates range from beef tataki with miso aioli to kani korokke and artichoke chips with shiitake and truffle ponzu, while sushi remains central - spanning elegant nigiri and sashimi to signature maki such as the Hell’s Kitchen. From the grill, classic sticks include miso-marinated black cod and teriyaki-glazed chicken meatballs, complemented by curated sharing menus designed for effortless discovery.

Housed within a two-storey corner site designed by Diener & Diener, the interiors balance Japanese architectural restraint with Scandinavian warmth. Timber, glass and soft lighting create a calm, light-filled space, flowing out to a pergola-covered terrace and bar that brings colour, energy and atmosphere to Spinningfields from lunch through to late evening.
